WM2K wasn't the pinnacle of wrestling games, VPW2 was. It just added to what WM2K already had; create-a-belt, super finishers, more moves & CAW options (create-a-mask!) & a kick ass MMA mode.

About the downloadable stuff; that's why I love FPD! There's over 50 new moves you can download that weren't included in the game, plus it has the create a ring mode and logo creator.

Shut up, Credable drew more heat than anyone else I can remember in ECW. Plus he's a great worker, Storm just made him look even better.

Of course, that I true. I just typically put the two games together in the same classification. I haven't played VPW2, so I haven't seen the little extras that it got.

Yeah, I still need to pick up FPD.

A few things I missed before:

(10) Sign creator. Absolutley. Works the same as the shirt idea.
(11) Be able to create moves by piecing together different pre-created moves. In a 3D wrestling game, this would be EASY to do. You just have different points in a move where you can break it up, and then you hook different pieces together. So, for example, I have a move where it starts like Triple H's pedigree. But once the wrestler hooks up the arms, he lifts him up and into a Tiger Driver. Since 3D models can be moved in any way (technically), doing stuff like this would be cake... and it would just be SO insane the stuff people could come up with. ^_^

And, so far as this "workrate vs. mic skills" argument goes... if you ask me, ECW had some really awesome wrestling (and with fans that appreciated it), yet at the same time had some pretty decent storylines and mic workers. What does WWF have, honestly? Austin can come out and get the crowd to say "What?". Rocky comes out and you have a 50% chance of being able to guess what he's going to say before he says it. Jericho is a shell of his former WCW self. Why not just take out ALL wrestling and just have one wrestler after another come out and get on the mic? WWF has SH*T storylines right now - it seems like they just don't understand how to do ANYTHING anymore. Remember dX, as in good old HBK - Triple H - Chyna dX? They FELT like a threat. WWF had one of the biggest chances for a REAL "threat faction" when they brought back the nWo, but they obviously have NO clue what to do with them.

WWF is just so crap right now it isn't even funny, and look at the recent angle chances they had! WWF vs. WCW - probably the biggest angle possibility EVER. Or the "reformation" of ECW. I marked like mad that night. But then, they didn't know how to handle it. They then got another chance with bringing in the nWo. They even screwed that up. There is no surprise that the ratings are so low right now.

I agree, WWF is so fucking stupid. More specifically, Vince McMahon. I'd bet everything in my pocket (which incidentilly, is nothing, because I'm not wearing any pockets) that Vince is the sole person the totally screwed WWF vs WCW and WWF vs NWO up, just because he's such a stubborn, stuck up jackass. Even though both scenarios could've turned into the biggest things in wrestling history (well the first, at least), he totally fucked it all up, just because of his ego. What an ass. *almost peed pants when I saw ECW form in the ring, and the ECW theme hit* ...next week... *pees on TV*

I'm very excited about this game. According to Mike Regan, head of WWFWG, who I just IMed, the game plays a lot like the Aki games. This concurs with what I read in the newest EGM, in which the control layout, and gameplay design, sound a lot like the Aki games, with some Toukon Retsuden elements thrown in. If it had the TR games' blood flow system, it would rule all. Realistic blood flow from the head that varied depending on how much you were hit in one area. You could start off with a small wound, and have it grow to cover your whole head.

People actually do that with a Gameshark and the N64 wrestling games.

I wonder if this game will be further delayed to omit Scott Hall now that he's been released by the WWE. Also, will the name change further delay the game as well? It seems WWF/WWE games take very little to warrant a further delay. Let's hope The Bad Guy gets to stay in the game for memories' sake. If not, well, there's always WCW/NWO Revenge to relive old times and angles.

They fired Hall? Fuck.

Oh boy, now the NWO is made up of Kevin Nash, X-Pac, and the Big Show. Boy, McMahon really plans these things out well, don't he.
