Could Bush Lose It?

I thought social security was like insurance. Its taken under the idea that its coming back to you. Its not a general tax for the support of underprivileged cats.

tones: I don't recall most middle class people I knew having cars for everyone, nice houses, boats and expensive electronics. Maybe one of the above -_o But the general idea of not spending above or at your means is correct.

What income bracket would you consider middle class?

hmm. . .+50 to -100K? What's the official line?

Well, somewhat, but what can I do? I'll cast my vote when the time comes with the hope of keeping democrats as far away from the whitehouse as possible, and that's about it ;). And when have the democrats (presidential candidates) NOT drawn attention to "misinformation," "failures," or "tax-cuts for the rich"? That's all they ever do... However, Joe Lieberman would be the only one I'd ever consider if I was a democrat (at least he's gotten off the "I'm NOT Bush" platform). Anyway, it's no longer looking like a sure thing for Bush, so there's cause for concern. But, oh well, we'll see what happens...

I can only hope that Bush doesn't get reelected. I don't think he's looking too good right now with all the crap our country is in. So I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I heard on the radio today, that Arnold Shwarzenneger had to disclose his earnings for the past 2 years(Governor race). He earned about $37 million in 2001 and had to pay $10 million in taxes. It does'nt sound like the rich are getting any tax breaks to me.

When you're making $37 million a year, I don't think $10 million will hurt you the same way a person who makes $37,000 a year. Trust me, Arnold's not hurting.

Well, you've got me there.
I guess I was more talking about people who own businesses and can hide earnings/ put them under other categories. Arnold is one example of someone who can't get away with pulling the wool over the taxman's eyes for the most part, you're right.

I can only hope...

We'll see, I'd love to see him debate with Dean, or even Kerry. I hope to God that Lieberman doesn't get the nomination

who elses think that we should get rid of social security? It is an old ass system that needs to be ripped to shreds, of course running on that policy would be political suicide.
