Actually, in India many of the politicians there used to be movie stars. A graduate friend of mine from India has told me.Quote:

I can't believe this is actually happening. Sure, some celebs have been mayor of their towns and whatnot, but Gov? When did it become acceptable to think that an Austrian bodybuilder turned tough-guy actor could be a political leader. This is right up there with Reagan winning the presidency...and everyone knows how that turned out. ;)
SC
I hope you're joking, but for anyone who was asleep in social studies class... The US Constitution prohibits anyone except US-born citizens from running for President. This clause protects us from the unlikely chance that a foreign-born dictator could be elected and hijack our country.Quote:

Actually, considering your statement regarding Reagan, I'm compelled to classify this as "spacecowboy's reality". It's all in your head. ;)
If he does win, his first act in office better be to dress up in olive green pants with no shirt and one suspender, and go around "cleaning up" all of the violent crime single-handedly, Mike Haggar style.
Ahh...I can see Arnold's campaign commercials now...
D, That was awesome work !!!!
I can'yt read it
*shakes head* Only in California, do we get candidates for Governor, like Arnold the Schwartz, Gary Coleman and Larry Flynt. Anywhere else they would have been laughed off the ballot...especially in Connecticut. Ha! And if one of these celeb gov.s do get elected, I hope it's not all a popularity race, and do a better job than Davis. It's been nothing but craziness since I moved out here. The sales tax here is incredible (CT-6%, CA-8.25%), not to mention the property taxes and tight acreage.
