My friend saw this at Otakon and thought it was excellent. Then again he's one twisted fuck. But after seeing that trailer it does indeed prove without a doubt how fucked up the Japanese are. He told me the the title at the beginning of the movie rises out of semen... wow...
Is this something I can watch at work? They're pretty mellow about that stuff here but I don't want to go overboard...

Anyway, I didn't download the trailer but I've seent he movie many times and I really think it's completely awesome. The insane gore just complements a great movie, I think it's probably the best by Miike.
Didn't Media Blaster or someone else pick this up for a R1 release? Despair? Yeah, Miike isn't my bag baby, but I still want to give Ichi a try, just to know that I watched it. I like gore like in Versus, but this is way to realistic for me...
Is there a torrent for this film anywhere?

Seen it last year. Own Japanese dvd of it. Yes it way weird and extremely violent and gory. Lots of scene of torture, nipple slicing, limb cutting and other forms of dismemberment. Still a very visual and cool movie.
Ssbomberman, I cant honestly tell you if R1 version of this is coming out. If so, hopefully it will stay in its true UNCUT form.

If you mean the girl in the trailer, it wasnt Ichi screwing her, but her abusive boyfriend, who loved to beat her up and then fuck her. Ichi went mad split him in half with his heel blade, which can be seen in the trailer. Girl was screaming, and from what I remember, hs did cut her throat with another kick. But I might double check on that.
I mean, that was a bit much, she's laying there trembling trying to scream, with this look on her face that you can't describe.

:lol: Thats Takeshi Miike for you. Some people love him, some cant stand. Most of his films have bizzare, disgusting and extremely violent moments. Thats his trademark, and Ichi pushes the limit quite a bit.
This trailer may have been one of the most messed up things I have ever seen.

Saw the uncut version of Ichi the Killer. Took me five or six hours to finish watching the movie. It was way too hardcore, I actually had to pause it and get some fresh air before coming back to watch it again.

I agree, Kakihara was one twisted bastard, but damn.... Ichi was way too messed up in the head to be likable. You did feel sorry for him, but things he did were just fucked up.

But if it's a good movie then it's a good movie. I just hope it isn't relying on shock value alone (which it might not, because it acutally looks interesting) because most movies that do end up sucking more than anything else.

I have the R2 Dutch 2 disc LE, trust me from the trailer to the movie, but the movie is not really about what you think it is just from viewing the trailer (plotwise).
Fuck. I didn't realize how cool this was gonna be.
I left Otakon after the first day, and thought about coming back just to see Ichi, but I decided not to. I wish I would've known how badass it was gonna be. :(
