While Sega has diversified their business strategy to include movies and toys in recent years, few people could have predicted their latest venture: bicycles. The company revealed today that they’re planning to begin selling a collapsible bicycle for the Japanese market beginning in late October 2003. According to a company spokesperson the bicycles will be produced in limited quantities and are expected to retail for 25000 yen ($210). Preorders for the bikes will be taken from August 15 through September 3 through SegaDirect, the company’s online retail portal. The bike itself is blue colored and prominently features the Sega company logo. For reference, there are currently no plans to offer the bicycle outside Japan. Nevertheless, you can check out some pictures of a finished unit below.
