Do you like Penny Arcade?

Thanks Stormy. Send us feedback and stuff. I think putting the comic on the main page is a great idea and I cannot stress that enough.

But I'm not the webdesigner, although I do think my ideas are the greatest thing since sliced bread. My favorite webcomic and the one I love is PVPOnline. I find most of their comics either really funny, or amusing (not necessarily laughable though).

Joystick Adventures is coming along. The one problem I have is relating some comics to gaming. Jonas (pixelassassin) always comes up with ideas and they have no real ties to gaming or movies or music or TV or anything. I always try to put small things in the comics. Like todays BF 1942 expansions comic. I put the loud mouth Colonels comments as the main attraction, then the brushing teeth line as a sort of cool line, but then I show his teeth yellow in that one frame, but not in the second. And the last frame has Jonas picking his nose with a knife. So I try to make it so you can view the comic a little bit more and find some finny tidbits nessled in the fray.

That bear comic above uses the fuck word needlessly and it's not funny. The "Fuck Algebra" title isn't funny and it could be if it had a headline like: Up Yours, Algebra! on it.

I thought the verse was pretty funny though ;p

I like that one. Although it's not laugh out loud funny, it's definitely amusing.

Maybe it's because I'm tired, but I actually laughed out loud at that comic. Every time I see it. I love the expression on his face.

Newspaper comics are pretty much a wasteland now, tooled primarily to conservative 50-year olds who think the height of humor is a sentient dog. I do like Boondocks quite a bit, although I tend to read it less as an overall "black" strip and rather as an alienated sub-society that knows it'll never really fit in. What can I say, I'm white to the core. Foxtrot is also a favorite, and I get the Liberty Meadows collections every other month when they hit. That strip didn't last six months in our paper.

Anyone who doesn't like Peanuts is just too damn young to really understand what it's about. No two ways around it, it's the least family-friendly strip in the paper.

I can't believe, though, that of all the strips mentioned as being whitebread crap nobody mentioned Family Circus. Day after day it's the single biggest chunk of pain in the paper.

So yeah, online comics blow the newspapers out of the water pretty hard.

What's the comic with the wife and the dad and they have kids? And they have a Christmas special on TV but it's really shitty.

Not Charlie Brown, because his specials rock, but the other one.

For Better or Worse. I actually own one of the collections, from when the son was younger. It was decent, if I remember. Decent enough for me to buy it anyways. I really don't like that strip now.

I also wouldn't say webcomics are better. If I could have a newspaper full of only comics I would enjoy, I'm sure I wouldn't have much trouble doing so, however, as it is, the most recent strip I got into doesn't even run in my paper. The strips people have reccomended to me don't run in my paper. They decided the paper would be better served if the comic section was full of crap.

While Family Circus does indeed suck, nothing is worse than Rose Is Rose. Nothing. Mary Worth and Cathy are gold in comparison.
