incorrect. there is a strip called Fred Basset that runs in a local paper. it fascinates me, as i've followed the strip for years, but it is never funny. ever. it's difficult to even figure out what the punchline is supposed to be. it's almost surreal. how does something like this get published?

That second one is alright... but nothing in those comics makes me laugh or even amuses me.

Tones mentioned this, but I thought I'd expand it. The expressions in PA comics are, for me, absolutely priceless. Other comics don't do it much for me because the characters themselves don't evoke anything. The text may be funny, it isn't just the joke itself, but how it's told. I can read/hear a joke any time, but comics are meant to be a caricature of a joke.

I've thought about making a "Great Expressions of Gabe" shirt or boxers with those iron-on papers, using some of Gabe's more classic facial expressions.

I swear, some comics' content is totally unfunny, but I can laugh until I nearly cry at the facial expressions used.

Whoever draws the Family Circus strip can actually be funny... he just chooses not to be.

For example... he did a parody of a Liberty Meadows strip and it rocked.

None of this talk matters anyhow, because everyone knows that the best webcomic out there is Jerkcity.

Foxtrot is the best comic in the paper these days. I'm also a big fan of Calvin and Hobbes, even though it hasn't run in the paper for years.
