Movies that push the envelope...

Hardcore movies, in every sense of the word, always fascinate me so what movies have you seen that make you step back and say "That is going way too far..."?

Sounds like Ichi the Killer is making some waves, and there's that August Underground from a while back.

In the Realm of the Senses, made back in the final days of the sexual revolution cinema and before pornography got really dilluted, is probably the most sexually explicit movie (not including just straight-up cheesy porno) I've ever seen. The movie doesn't go two minutes without nudity or sex, which gets more and more grotesque as the movie goes on.

Then there's Salo: The 120 Days of Sodomy, made by Pasolini (he's made some good movies, though he's relatively minor in the arthouse and foreign circut) as his final farewell to cinema. People still are calling it the most disturbing movies ever, and I hear there's an insane amount of torture going on, such as tongues get pulled out and hungry rats getting hung from a woman's vagina. I haven't seen it myself since the Criterion DVD (probably the only uncut US release) goes for upwards of $300.

There are ussually a bunch of bootleg copies of Salo on Ebay for pretty cheap. If you are a sicko with a light wallet, you are in luck.

Those Guinea Pig movies from Japan.

There's like three of them, one Hollywood actor supposedly called the feds or something after watching one of the movies because he thought it was real snuff.

I haven't watched any of them, nor do I plan to. Ichi the Killer is my limit.

there's more than just three i think. i don't remember exactly how many there are, but i know some of them are out on dvd. and it was Charlie Sheen that made a big deal over it. that crazy Charlie Sheen, he was probably fucked up on coke and hookers when he watched.

Ichi was pretty f'ed up, but not enough to deter me. a few scenes did make me wince though, like when Kakihara cut his tongue. i really, really, really want to see the Guinea Pig series though and that August Underground.

Well anyone that is a so called "advanced collector" knows of many underground banned low budget tapes availible thru mail order. Funny how they call the really sick stuff for advanced viewers.

Anyways I think were talking more about Movies that some of us have actually seen so I'll add Happiness to the list, it deals with a taboo subject, and depicts a pedephille and his antics among other disturbed people.

Natural Born Killers was edgy and still is. It's a good piece of film if you can stand the violence. I can't, really.

Well, I dont think that House of 1000 Corpses pushed any limits, other than how bad the movie can be ;) It was hyped to be a return to the exploitation films of late 70s and early 80s but in fact was just a lame ripoff of Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Bloodsucking Freaks is a pretty fucked up movie. There's a part where the bad guys take a very underage-looking girl and stick her in a guillotine, and make her hold the rope to drop the blade between her teeth. Then, they pull down her skirt and underwear (she's on her hands and knees), and start caning her bare ass until she cries out, releasing the rope and in effect, chopping her own head off. Then a dancing midget with an afro named Ralphus uses the head to preform oral sex on himself! There's also a part where a guy drills a hold in a girl's head and sucks her brains out with a straw. This family-friendly movie is full of sick little scenes like this. Anyone else see it?

Agreed. HO1KC pushed me to leave the theater, that's all it pushed. It sucked.

Just bought this one, pretty gory but campy now Women's rights groups protested this one. I like the midget the best.
