Okay, I'm on my PC, doing absolutely nothing out of the ordinary.
And my HD (IDE1 slave) starts making really, really loud clicking noises. And the occasional grind.
Many restarts later, still the same. Opened the PC, and the HD looks fine from the outside, but I guess I need to open it up.
Meh. Anyone? Help? Past HD trouble?
No HD trouble...but my PS2 makes the same noises.
The needle may be going out, I'd soon get a new one.

I think it's a bit too late. Doesn't get recognized in the BIOS anymore, so I think it's safe to say that I'm screwed.

very bad. WD arent exactly the best or longest lasting drives. next time go with a Seagate or Maxtor.

WD isnt a bad brand at all, they like allot of manufacturers went through a bad run of drives in the 20-40 gig range.
The newer drives in the 80+ range are good.
However, due to heat and sound levels being very low I prefer the current Seagate models.
PC hardware has its up and downs, stay with what is currently working and dont hold onto old out dated info on hardware...
I still to this day hear people saying ATI is a shitty video card.
