Karma police
Arrest this man
He talks in maths
He buzzes like a fridge
He's like a detuned radio
Hey, can I post Radiohead lyrics too?
Sure, it would be better to reccomend some of their songs, though. Might as well make this thread useful.
Karma Police is one of the best, so good way to start us off.
Here's some classic Bends shit:
They love me like I was a brother
They protect me, listen to me
They dug me my very own garden
Gave me sunshine, made me happy
Nice dream, nice dream, nice dream
I call up my friend, the good angel
But she's out with her ansaphone
She says she would love to come help but
The sea would electrocute us all
Nice dream (x7)
If you think that you're strong enough
If you think you belong enough
If you think that you're strong enough
If you think you belong enough
Nice dream (x4)
Too bad most Radiohead lyrics make absolutely no sense.
What song is it from?
Might help to name the title.
Yeah, that would help.
Look at the phrase that is repeated 14x. All will become clear.
Would be simplier to just say that without the attitude.
Not every song is named after the chorus.
Ali, not antagonism here, but why are you posting this? the peace process hit a bad day, sadly it hits lots of them, elaborate please? Definitly sucks, both sides will have war till they reign in their respective extremists.
Because such news saddens me.
I post about the things I feel passionate abouth or care abouth.
This is bad news for both sides.
i can agree with that. gotta just move on,and not let extremists dictate policy.
So what new games are out this week?
I have a more pressing question: does Old Dirty Bastard use actual words in his song from the new Neptunes album? I swear to god he said "a-wizzle-wuzzle" in the hook.
This is my only line.
I don't even bother clicking on this guys links anymore... but I do enjoy Radiohead.
Especially Kid A. Brilliant shit.
A lot of people talk about the Neptunes, but does anyone know Neptune?
Ha, I wasn't getting an attitude.Quote:

good man. kid a is my favorite radiohead record. well, either that or ok computer.Quote:

Amnesiac is awesome too.
The Neptunes, however...meh.
amnesiac has pyramid song, so it's a must-own record. it also has spinning plates, which i love, but i don't think many others do.
Spinning Plates is okay, but I'll take I Might Be Wrong or Knives Out or any other song with some semblance of actual instrumentation over it.
What's the good word on the new Radiohead album? I've only heard bits and pieces.
My vote for their best is probably OK Computer. The Bends and Kid A are also fantastic.
The new Radiohead is sweet-ass-sweet. It has some OK Computer vibes to it. You'll definitely like it.
Knives Out is my fav off of Amnesiac, probably because it sounds the most out of place on that whole album.
Alright cool, it'll get picked up sometime this week in that case, thanks for the recommendation man.
as far as traditional instrumentation goes, i'll take ok computer/the bends radiohead over amnesiac/hail to the thief radiohead. i like the new guitary stuff, but it doesn't seem to hold up as well as the old. there are exceptions, of course (2+2=5, a wolf at the door)
the thing is, its entirely likely that in the not too distant future someone you know of is going to die in an attack just like the sort that takes place in Isreal every other day, or the one at the Baghdad UN Headquarters today, or more Hollywood style like the Sept 11th attacks. We have some serious enemies, and they don't have anything to lose, it just seems they have more pressing battles at the moment on their holy soil. If I'm not mistaken, there is a Jihad against the United States. They may not have powerful forces, but they do have conviction.
As someone else mentioned; Almaci has done more for encouraging real-world discussion on this board than most anyone else.
(my other post in this thread was sarchasm, in reaction to the apathetic posts that preceeded it)
A Jihad against the U.S.? I would never have guessed!
;p
All regarding any topics like this will probably be apathetic, because after the first 600 threads like this, they all tend to repeat themselves. See watch:
Almaci: "the US did another bad thing"
Person A: "I don't see it"
Almaci: "no it's true, look this country is bombing that one"
Person B: "umm...what does this have to do with the US?"
Almaci: "oh...well, I saw it on Guerilla News Network, they said it was US fault...oh look, suicide bomb in Israel...damn those US lamers for doing blah blah blah inticing Palestinians to bomb Israel"
Person A: "o...k..."
You want to know what? If you want the land that badly, then stay there while we blow the bejesus out of it. If you're smart, you'll go somewhere else and STFU.
That's pretty uncool Bob. If you don't side with Almaci on the Israel issue, that's fine. But don't be a jackass about it.
are we still discussing Radiohead lyrics or this whole Israel thing?
anyhoo. i like their B-Sides more than most of the stuff they put out on EPs.
hell, their b-sides are better than most everything put out on an EP by any band or performer.
from my favorite song-
so sell your suit and tie and come and live with me
leukemia schizophrenia polyethylene
there is no significant risk to your health
she used to be beautiful once as well
plastic bag, middle class, polyethylene
decaffeinate, unleaded, keep all surfaces clean
if you don't believe this, sell your soul
if you don't get into it, no one will
bob,you are way off here, ali wasnt pointing fingers here, just shaking his head in frustration, chill.
and i havent gotten into a radiohead cd since the bends.
I listened to Kid A most of the day while driving thanks to this thread. And proceeded not to buy Hail to the Thief for friggin $18.99. Once I find it for a reasonable price it'll find itself in my collection.
Almaci shakes his head in frustration non-stop. It's like breathing. Do I make a post whenever I breathe? No; that's silly, because I am continually doing it.

Put me on ignore, genius.

Wow, you couldn't figure that out yourself?
The intelligence of some of you is highly suspect.

I am not continually making threads about this sort of thing, Rich. So your picture means nothing.
StriderKyo: we know you're obsessed with becoming Japanese.
Man, you have no IDEA. Every night I pray to the ghost of Hirohito, begging that I wake up Japanese. One day, I too would like to work 6 12 hour days a week. That would be so awesome. Affordable real estate? Bah! Urban home ownership is for weak-kneed gaijin who will never know the true joys of hour and a half commutes.Quote:

And does it get any better than being locked into a single company for my whole life? I should think not! Who needs career mobility when I can stay in one job where advancement is based on seniority and familial ties? Rock!
And individualism? It'll be the ruination of us all! Undermines society's harmony, I say. No thank you. If I'm in a class and I don't understand something, it's my fault. Asking a question would bring shame to the teacher and question his ability.
Of course, there's always food - $8 cups of coffee and $20 for a lb of ground beef? Bring it on!
Man I wish I was Japanese, cavorting with green-haired schoolgirls in flowing meadows, while jolly Turbografx tunes play in the background. Is there a better existence than the eternal anime-wonderland that is the Japanese lifestyle? No sir, I should think not.
EDIT: Your comeback still made no sense in context, btw.
Eh...it wasn't a comeback. It was a statement of fact, nothing more.
