Thanks, but I hadn't really spent the intelligence points to consider how odd it might be that they basically crumbled onto themselves ala a building in Rampage. hey, if it happens in a video game, of course it's like real life!

The buildings were made to sway, what with wind of course. However, probably not meant to have a plane saddle up on top of it.
So, MVS, what exactly do you think happened? If the supports had been blown out, wouldn't someone have noticed that day? Or are you saying they used a hack saw?

The buildings were made to wistand the impact of a plane, though it was the smaller 707 series.

What I am saying, is that those buildings had a central support column in them, and falling down, even if it pancaked, it would be like dropping a pile of dinner plates onto a nail with dinner plates below it.

The plates are going to crash and break, but the nail is still going to be there in some form.

I think the planes hit the buildings, of course.

The first hit dead on and put most of the fuel in the centrail floors.

The second plane hit at a bad angle and shot most of the fuel out the side of the building into a fireball.

Neither one alone could structurally weaken the entire building and cause it to fall in on itself.

If you lit a tree on fire, in the middle of the tree, it's not going to fall straight down, it's going to topple over.

Maybe post the first attack with the car bombs, they realized that the day might come when they would have to implode the buildings, to prevent them from falling over and taking out most of south manhattan.

I'm saying that the buildings were demolished with explosives and brought down in one fell swoop, rather than allowed to fall over (though not entirely) and mess up other buildings.

Oh, and Cortney Love had something to do with Kurt Cobain's death.

My guess is that the heat from the explosions did not melt the steel in the building; it caused the beams to expand, weakining how much load they could carry. The top floors had already collapsed or were collapsing and when the heat spread to the bottom floors, the base could simply could not support the weight on top of it.

I dunno.

Jet fuel (Which burns at a peak of something like 800 degrees) melting 200,000 tons of Steel (that melts at 1500 degrees) sounds odd to me.

Most of that fuel didn't even stay in the building, the 2nd tower.

Heat spread all the way to the bottom floors?

Though, goin on MVS's theory, it is totally concievable that in the mayhem surrounding the towers getting hit it would be very easy to get explosives into the building w/ the chaos and stuff that was occuring.

Of course, there is just not a lot of data on buildings getting hit by planes, so who knows.

Okay, then let's say the beams hit a breaking point at an upper-middle level of the building. The weight and speed of all that falling on top of it is probably enough to cause a domino effect.

Maybe not necessarily staged, you can believe that if you want, but additional explosive firepower outside of the planes crashing into the buildings seems very logical.

This evidence shows that its entirely possible there were others taking part in the operation, particularly ones whose job was to sneak explosives (before or after the panic) in to structual weakpoints in the towers.
