no, that's not the point. once again, the point isn't whether you think it'll sell well comparativley speaking, or if it's the kind of Final Fantasy that people buy. if you actually payed attention to any of my post, you'd see that the whole time the point was always that they got an exclusive Final Fantasy game.

I think people would rather have X-2 J-RPG over CC's action RPG style.

I would stop supporting the e-reader for classic gaming. Instead, I would offer NES roms online to be purchased and downloaded onto a blank gba cart with a built in emulator.

The whole point of Nintendo bringing in the Final Fantasy name was to draw attention to their system.

If a big title with a huge name like Final Fantasy doesn't sell on the Gamecube, how do you think other big corporations are going to feel about spending time and resources putting their big franchises on a system where they have proven to not sell?

I'm asking. Maybe I am missing something about Nintendo's intention.

I don't think they'd to that. There's a good chance that someone could create hardware and software to download games to their computer or maybe even emulate their own games and other games from, say, the Genesis on to the cart.

It'd definitely be cool to have something like that going, though.

Crystal Chronicles did a pretty good job of moving systems in Japan. Its been a few weeks and hardware sales are still significantly higher now than they were pre-FF. It even moved more systems than the free gameboy player that was introduced a couple weeks before FF hit.

It'll be interesting to see what Tales of Symphonia does for the gamecube in the coming weeks.

There we go. That's all he had to say. I hope it works, but I think if Sony counteracts that move by releasing FFX-2, people will be split on what to buy and will choose FFX-2 in the end. (especially if they don't have a Cube already)

The good thing nintendo is doing with CC is playing to the system strengths. The four ports allows the family or a bunch of friends to play co-op. That's one of the neglected things about gaming imo.

There are some people who like the idea of playing with other people and not strangers online.
Maybe nintendo would have aroused even more interest if they called it secret of mana 3d or something.

One thing I can imagine is if some person creates a GTA-like rpg world with 4 player support and puzzles like zeldas four swords or something only with optional "player select" like in sports games for times when people are forced to play n 1 player mode.(the cpu would take over others, and if ai was too dumb, you could allow a form of limited scripted behaviour like in SOM)

FF is more well known but if nintendo can create a whole new franchise which is like SOM and highlights the ability to get more than 1 single player involved with the quest, then they can stick true to thier family oriented direction.

Games like super bomberman were the most played multiplayer games for me because of the immediate accessbility. Unlike a sports sim you don't have to know anything about stats, just use your own logic and plan and react to the chaos. (same thing to a lesser extent with games like twisted metal, yes it wasn't the most deep game but it was a lot of fun fooling around)

Games like worms 3d being cancelled (oz only, not sure about others)can't be good for the ole cube. Nintendo should compensate with thier own inhouse franchise some way. (I proposed they use the advanced wars world for something like this.)

That's true. Online seems to be a buzzword though, and would always be something good to have regardless. It's not always easy to get 4 friends with a GBA in a house with a Gamecube.

Online gives some games the ability to play multiplayer all the time without always hassling your friends.

I only have 1 or 2 friends who own GBAs.
