I never liked laminating posters. I find that they tend to discolour over time. But perhaps the techniques / technologies have changed since the last time I laminated a poster way back when. I'd much rather frame a poster just because I like the look much better.
Come to think of it, I have a number of posters I had wanted to frame and hang up when I moved into my new appt. last year and I never did. Oh well. :p
Tip: Best way to protect posters, I find, is to keep them out of direct sunlight. It's amazing how quickly they'll fade otherwise.
I frame all of mine. Every 6 months or so I rotate them so I always have new stuff on my walls. The manager of my local Gamestop saves the promotional posters that would normally be thrown out and gives them to me.
I think that laminating looks funny, because unlike with a frame, the reflecions that come off it look really... errr... wonky, for lack of a better description.
Even a cheap-o plastic frame would look nicer.
When you laminate anything you're essentially destroying it since it can never be safely removed from the laminate. If you have anything of value it will be rendered worthless after lamination.
Just FYI. If you're poster's worthless and you like the look then go for it. I personally prefer framing, though it is quite a bit more expensive.
Just go to Ikea and buy a large poster frame. It's just a little more expensive that getting the whole thing laminated anyway.
I second that recommendation. ;)Quote:

I guess laminating is out of the question then. I guess I'll just stick to that special poster-only tape for now. And could someone link me to this "Ikea" poster frame?
Laminating posters... sicko :p
Just kidding ;) :)
I have a small Dragon's Lair 3D poster that Don Bluth signed last year. It kind of got dinged up in transition back home to Dallas, so it isn't worth framing anymore :(
But I still have been really meaning to drag it down to Kinko's to get laminated so it doesn't get damaged further, but I kept running out of time back home in Big D before coming back here :\
