Just moved into the dorm and Kazaa doesn't work. I'm assuming Temple has a firewall setup that prevents me from using certain ports, or something.
Do anyother firesharing programs work behind university firewalls?

Try Direct Connect.
Bit torrent. Worked at Bradley, and they had that networked locked down tighter than GW's butt cheeks.
imesh worked for me when I was at school. Depends what kind of lock down your school has in place.
Bittorrent works, thankfully, but I already knew that ;)
I'll try I-mesh...
Watch out for that I-Mesh shit. One of the biggest Trojan Horse programs ever, says I.
Alright, no Imesh
As for direct connect, it says it needs windows .NET Framework. What is this and should I be wary of installing?
Does it keep saying More Sources Needed?
No it doesn't connect because i'm behind a firewall... I know this for a fact.
Hmm, mine wasn't connecting before either, but now it connects but always needs more sources. Soulseek works, though.
Weird.
Try changing the port number on Kazaa.Quote:

Try 7000..I'm just taking a stab at it.
There an option on Direct Connect for people who are connecting and have a firewall. Look for it. It'll work like a charm after you use this option.
try using Newsgroups. theyre great. you can find anything on there. really. and its very, very fast.
