Except for the guy killing the fucking girl. I don't remember them singing about shit like that back when they were good, and especially not now that they're the next Backstreet Boys.Quote:

And if it was the google dolls, the song would be massively over produced and contain no emotional impact whatsoever.Quote:

Nah dude, I don't see that at all. There is always someone's vocal style your gonna be copping when you get into that area of music.
Goo Dools = shit
88= good stuff.
Very nice sound. Well recorded and all that, I'm sure that took some effort. The song I like. I like the vocals, too. Your voice is... well, shot to hell (perhaps "weathered" would be a more tactful term?), but I think that made it work, and you belted it out anyway.
Lyrically, it could use another draft or two. It's ok, but not there yet. It's too abrupt betweenthe two verses. There should be more of a progression. Or maybe a final verse wrapping it up. It just feels too much like a two step thing instead of a story or a progression. And like Fury Fox said that "walked to your room/now I'm in your room" line is really cringe-worthy.
But it's a good song, I'd just play with the lyrics a little more and try it once more.
Nice stuff, 88. You've got a good voice- kinda gravely, with decent range and you can actually hold a note without cracking. The song itself- ooo, a balad from 88. Never would have expected that. ;) It was actually kinda soothing. Thumbs up, I like it.
frosty likes. the voice is defintly the right voice for punk, the lyrics, its already been discussed, but they are not too bad, i have heard a lot worse from bands that sell millions, i liked the other songs you put up before better, but like you said, acoustic isnt usually your guys thing. Very solid though.
Whats up guys? This is Rich (the main guitar in the song). I'm glad you all enjoyed. We have a huge sound coming out of a little computer. I can't wait to get the vocals done so we can start mixing. Someone asked what kind of monitors we are mixing on...they are just like these: http://www.m-audio.com/products/m-au...iophilebx5.php but a generation older... We recorded the guitar parts to a click track...80 bpm IIRC, so anyone with a little skill who wants to do a drum and bass remix of the song is welcome. I'll even include the original 24bit/96kHz .wav files. Its an open challenge to all. BTW, we have a rockin' set up in our practice spot...strikers vertical shooter arcade cabinet, dreamcast demo unit, an okay PC with a million MAME roms on it, a hundred divx movies, a million MP3's, and of course lots of pR0n, not to mention a set up for a 4 piece band. If anybody is good at writing lyrics, shoot josh a PM and give him some because we have the world's most kick ass song with no words that we need to finish recording.
Josh, we should do a mix of me doing the lounge singer voice on that one song and our drummer trying to sing on another (pathetically funny).
Thumbs up to the lounge singer shit... I told you it was gold.Quote:

I'm sure it's harmonically, and lyrically, and whatever esle-ly sound. But, if I wanna listen to a slower, stripped down kinda music, I'll listen to Coldplay.
Not a criticism, just expressing my love of the old over the new.
