PSX-to-Saturn controller converters?

Making something that you can plug stock Saturn controllers into would be very difficult, and probably not worth the effort.

But, if you don't mind modding your controllers a bit, it's not hard to make adaptors that'll work with them. The info is out there (GameSX will tell you the basics, and Google will turn up plenty of other stuff).

I just ordered the converter from Lik-Sang. I'll report back here on how it works...

Hi! I just got the PS to Saturn Controller converter from Lik-Sang.com.

It works great! :)

In case your wondering you can use the D-pad OR the analog stick on the PS controller for directionals (havent tested the stick with Nights tho)

It also gives you slow motion and turbo on any button you want but I havent tried this.

The buttons get mapped like this:

Saturn - PS

A - Square
B - X
C - O
X - Triangle
Y - L1
Z - R1
L - L2
R - R2

Yep. I love the button layout and where the stick is placed. I have 5 other sticks, and I like the layout and spacing of this one the best. If I make a new stick from scratch, I will use this as a template. The dc agetec stick has the same button layout, but the stick isn't in the same location.

I'm going to open it up to see if I could replace the parts with new model sanwa ones, because it's a little wore out now.

Can I just put a ps pcb in my saturn stick and solder it alongside the saturn connections?

Let me know if you achieve it. I tried it and found a plastic base hiding the stick and button's access. You need to break it to change any part. Sadly, Virtua Stick Pro's buttons aren't as good as real Astro City cab's or Sanwa ones.

Sure - that works fine. The Virtua Stick has plenty of room to hold extra stuff, and the Playstation PCB shouldn't interfere with the original Saturn hardware. You might also want to add a pair of extra buttons somewhere (the PSX pad has one more button than the Saturn one).

An interesting site to see the inside of Saturn Virtua Stick Pro. I'm now skeptic. Maybe you can change the buttons without breaking the plastic base?

It's been a while since I saw a Virtua Stick, but I got the impression that you could probably unscrew the top and change the buttons from there. Could this be true?

Biggest waste of resources and time I've ever seen.
