For shooters, what kind of control system do you prefer? do you like the mouse and keyboard setup better, or the control pad?
Me, Im more of a mouse and keyboard kind of guy. Its just so much better, and for me adds to the over all gameplay.

Ugh. Sorry, as we've covered this ground many, many times, but you're going to have to provide some definition of "shooters." Let's start there.
DoDonPachi is so much better with a mouse and keyboard.
I'm guessing we're talking FPS' here?
wasd for me.
What kind of shooter?
AhhhHAHAHAHAHAH.Quote:

Mouse and keyboard.
...We're talking about shmups, right?
Right?
FPS and 3PS=mouse and keyboard.
Everything else that can be defined as a shooter=controller.
You need to be more specific in your titling of "shooter" in these parts or people will ge ton your case.
The fact that the question was even brought up didn't give you a hint as to which type of shooter he meant? Jeez...

"What controls are do you like"?
How many support analog?
Of all the shmups I've played, I can name Thunderforce V, and, uh, Thunderforce V.
Playing an FPS with a controller is like browsing the internet with a Dreamcast controller. Technically, it can be done but it's so far from ideal it's not even funny.
don't forget soukyugurentai. i never use it, though. digital is much better.Quote:

I think.
I'm fairly certain Mars Matrix did as well. Although I think the U-Force is still the only way to go.
The only way to play a first person shooter well is with a mouse and keyboard, IMHO.
Black Arts, you were so close!

You can point out Halo..you can point out Unreal Championship..Goldeneye, whatever. Consider how slow those games are. Yeeeees!
mine uses my trusty analog pad, f*ck the keyboard! :DQuote:

i use a controller for shooters.
woot. :D
I prefer mouse and keyboard to all, the reason I hate console FPSes, is it's slow. Every FPS NEEDS a sensitivity option. It's still not as good in my opinion, but god it would help.
>.>
I don't feel a huge difference in the controls with shmups. Unless my keyboard is loud, then it pisses me off. WASD! all the way, bitch.
Since this has been asked before how about your preference for inverted or not, personally I like my up to go up and my down to go down.

Holy Shit! Is this Dyo from the GG! days? How is it going man? You should come around more often.

The right answer is mouse-look. Whatever you might think about joysticks, you're wrong. It's in the Bible and eveything, and as Phil Collins would say 'Jesus he knows me and he knows I'm right', which makes you very wrong mister!
Anyone who votes "controler" is either fooling themselves or doesn't play PC games. Probably both.
Hey JM,
Yeah it's me alright. I still loom in the shadows reading, I just don't post as often. I find this board to be the best place for all information regarding games not to mention the best place for game related debates.
