Who is celebrating the Dreamcast's 4th US birthday on Tuesday?
I'm using it as an excuse to break out some of the Dreamcast classics that I haven't played in a while, such as Samba De Amigo version 2000, Chu Chu Rocket, Power Stone 2, and The Typing of the Dead, to get some good multi-player action going on!
Anyone else joining in the festivities in their home town?
I'll be celebrating it, hopefully, by playing my favorite DC games, and maybe buying some new ones.
Well, I cant honestly say that DC was/is my favorite system. It had few great games, but it also had plenty that I didnt care about. Plus I never was big fan of the controller, and it was the only system that actually died on me.
Still, I and dj might play few rounds of Powerstone, and House of the Dead 2 in the memory of DC.
Wow.
It sure doesn't seem like it was that long ago.
Crazy.
This means I'm going to wind up starting another game on Shenmue again, doesn't it?
God, I knew it. This isn't healthy. Maybe I'll counterbalance it by getting people to play Powerstone.
I might play some Third Strike...

Well, I guess I started the celebration early yesterday when I bought Samba de Amigo brand spankin' new for $15. Maybe I'll continue the celebration and buy Stupiud Invaders and Power Stone 2...
Seems like I've been buying more Dreamcast games lately than anything else....
I'll celebrate it by playing some near-launch PS2 games.
I'll celebrate it by forgetting what day it is, and not playing any video games at all. Just like last year.
I'm sure several members of this board will celebrate by eating a romantic candlelit dinner, listening to some soft chamber music, and finally, mastrubating gooey jizz all over their Dreamcasts and cuddling up next to it afterwards and going to sleep.
Me? I think I'll just play some Illbleed. Best DC game ever.
For me its Dreamcast day everyday.

Thank You Thank You. But seriously does anyone else think that Illbleed and Blue Stinger get more flak than they deserve to.
I don't know about Illbleed, but Blue Stinger is quite fun from what I've played of it. I'm enjoying it more than any of the RE games so far.
This marks the day that I skipped my first college class. Of course I was standing in line for 2 hours before, but it was worth it. Doesn't seem like 4 years.
Illbleed is one of the most underrated DC games out there. It's my fav DC game, and one of my all-time fav games in general.
Blue Stinger controls like shit. That's about all I remember. Still, I kept my copy in case I'm really bored one day.

I think I'll celebrate the Dreamcast's 4 year anniversary by selling it, because with Sega Tennis, Rez, Fur Fighters, Rayman 2, and Ecco the Dolphin on the PS2, Ikaruga, Sonic Adventure, Sonic Adventure 2, and Skies of Arcadia on the Gamecube, and Soul Calibur 2, Crazy Taxi 3, Phantasy Star Online Episdoes I & II, JSRF and Shenmue II on the Xbox, there really isn't much of a reason for owning one anymore, except for the ocassional Mars Matrix session.
No, it's still useful, since it's the Best NES Emulator Ever.

one of the things i liked about the DC was that you didn't need 3 absurdly-shaped seperate systems to get a decent gaming experience..
it was all right there in one convenient little noisy white box..

I love shooters and between Border Down and Ikaruga, DC still manages to keep me happy with a meager string of releases.
I'm happy to support DC and the developers who bother to give it a chance. Far too many only see the good in the system when troweling the bargain bin, when encountering a full price tag they cower and beg for the system to die already.

You Know, I think it was the Dreamcast that originally created Segatron the character. He has gone from 100 stories to a 3 foot "Robbit" plus surprises.
Maybe I'll pick it up. I played Blue Stinger and while the graphics weren't awesome and everyone ran like they had a thermometer stuck in their ass, it was a good game. At least you didn't have to worry about running out of ammo. I played it on a Christmas break one year and it added a lot to the ambience.Quote:

It's got an awesome arcade shooter on the way (Border Down), and even a new game from Sonic Team coming up... Puyo Puyo Fever!
Now who'd have thought that the ol' DC would still be getting new titles in late 2003? :D

The night was fun! It started off with a round of mind-numbing Chu Chu Rocket (the most aggrivating game ever), followed by some Sega Bass Fishing (with the reel, of course) which got some great laughs due to its English-with-a-Japanese-accent vocals and crazy gameplay, then some Samba De Amigo, Powerstone 2, and Worms Armageddon. Sure, it's only like 1/20th of the good DC games that I own, but it was a fun night :)
I celebrated the day by sleeping till 4pm and playing KOTOR the rest of the night.
I spent the day playing all of my favorite DC games mixed in with some new ones I got from GameStop a couple of weeks ago. Good times.
I celebrated by having my mom watch Gilmore girls with the good TV and getting frustrated at not perfecting my Lancer Evolution 4 driving techniqe in Sega Rally 2
I celebrated by completely and totally forgetting about it while doing homework, going to Taekwondo, and, err, reading up on some Beatmania emulation stuff.
