This is a tough call.
It took Indiana Jones to bring whips out of the sole mindshare of dominatrixes and horse drawn carraiges. It really is functional as a tool and a weapon. But not nearly as cool as the telescoping golden banana picker, especially when giant monkey mecha are concerned.
Nonetheless, nothing feels quite as cool as a long cold steel razor sharp sword in your hand. Swinging those things makes you feel one hundred feet tall the moment you take the handle.
Modified Sword Chucks could be the best of both worlds.
I'm probably going to go with whips because they are faster, nothing annoys me more than a sword in castlevania that takes a billion years to swing.
Swords. Whips are for pussies.
The Whip-Sword. Perfect hybrid.
The Whip Sword in Aria is very handy. I think I used it more than any other weapon.
Easy. The whip. Nothing touches Castlevania II.
Bloody tears forever.
Swords currently in the lead, bee-yitch!
For castlevania, whips, for me, werewolf claws!:D Rip drac apart up close and personal, maybe a good upgrade of the second castelvania game for the gc? with the werewolf is in order? Seriously, the whips seemed weird to me at first, but since I played through all the nes ones, the whips are part of the mythos, and it was jarring to go to various weapons in sotn. they worked obviously, but sotn was so good that he could have been using a petunia, and i would have not cared. for the human slayers though, the whips are needed .
