Post office. Just ask for an international money order.
Lately my bank hasn't been cashing them immediately, but instead holding them for 25 days. Quite the pain.
Go to the bank and get an international money order.
I think there is a high fee, unfortunately.
thanks guys :)
Mode7, did you know that you can cash US Postal IMOs at the post office? They won't give you any hassle over holding it, and the exchange rate's pretty good.
FYI, you can also cash Canadian and Japanese postal MOs at American post offices.
John, absolutely any American money order except a domestic orange-and-green USPS MO will be fine in Canada. Western Union money orders are great, and probably cheaper than the USPS ones. When I lived in Canada, I used to get ones from Wal-Mart a lot, although I've never tried buying one myself. I wouldn't recommend going to the bank, since they charge way too much even for domestic MOs.
Ah, it's not high. What, a dollar?Quote:

My bank said it would be $12 to buy a money order last time I asked. The teller advised me to go to the post office instead.Quote:
