As long as it plays good. It always can be BETTER, plus tastes vary.
Too me DMC comparison already make the game great. But to someone else it might spell trouble.

The more I hear about this, the more I think I'm gonna cancel my reserve (ssx3 perhaps...).
You're also playing the demo, as well. To say something could have been "so much more", with only playing about 5% of the game, is an inaccurate statement.Quote:

Roufuss,
I wouldn't say it is an inaccurate statement. If you prefer the 2D gameplay of previous games as opposed to the 3D gameplay contained within, the demo is more than enough to say "it could've been so much more." Much in the same way if you prefer 3D DMC/Rygar -esque gameplay to 2D gameplay and a 2D version came out you would be disappointed. It doesn't mean the game sucks, just that it could've been so much more, if it were closer to SOTN or even Dracula's Curse. It's all a matter of opinion.
Shin Johnpv,
Does the demo end at the Golem boss? I'm curious if it is the same as the Dengeki Ps2 demo I have.
to clear it up
im not saying its bad
Im just saying the gameplay and camera are extremely close to DMC and Rygar and in that sense im dissapointed
i kinda expected more from Konami
like i said its not bad its just i was expecting more
again i plan on buying the game when it comes out so i hope something big happens in it changes things up a bit and such to make it feel like Castlevania

ill see if i can make it through it faster and see if it goes past the gollum
All this talk about the demo made me play it again, and I discovered something new! There is a section in the demo where you can see the potential for some platforming elements. In the room with the "puzzle" there is a clock. in front of the clock there is what looks like a lantern. You can latch onto that with your whip to get up to a top level. From there you can latch onto another and go over to an area that is closed off. Worth trying out if you have the demo. I think Rygar pulled it off better though.
Well, Rygar did the 3d action well. It just there wasnt all that much of the actual action in it to speak off, but I am sure CV will fix that problem and then some.
Damn this demo I don't have! People should really wait till the game is out to make these judgements... to say "well it played like DMC" is kind of an obvious statement... you know it's not 2D, so you can't go in expecting as much.
I'm nervous that it won't live up to Castlevania standards, but I'm trying to keep the faith until I've played the final version. I'm really hoping the impressions given from the demo don't hold true to the final product.

Kinda depressing when this was originally going to be a 2D game before they changed their minds at the last minute.
