Heh. Glad I don't live there.
I like the picture of the boat house that says "NO DOCKING" on it. Like some guy is going to paddle up to that and go, "Whats that sign say? Oh damnit."
I know. That's my favorite one, by far.
Well, Here in Chesapeake, VA (Right beside VA Beach) I just got my power back on late last night. It was out for about three days. Yeah, everything was a fucking wreck here in Hampton Roads, hundreds of trees and power lines down, the midtown tunnel is flooded and power is out pretty much everywhere. My school (Christopher Newort University in Newport News) has canceled class for tomorrow because they still don't have power, but they haven't given an exact day to come back. I went to the marina where we keep our sailboat and that is also a friggin mess, there we like 6 sunken boats and one sailboat on the pier. If I had thought the damage would have been this bad I would have grabbed my camera from school when I went home, but I didn't, so no dice.
As for the day of the storm, I just sat around with my family and cheered for the trees behind my house to fall. One of which fell on my asshole neighbor's car, which made me happy.
That's nucking futs.
That's an aewsome looking red X Lhad.
We lost power for a few hours, seven or so, and fortyfive minutes after it came back up it went out again and stayed that way for two fucking days. Since power was spotty throughout the city there were plenty of traffic lights out meaning accidents galore. Even better was that one of our cellular service towers went out so we had to drive to the mall to get a signal so I could call the electric co. and get some BS about how my power had been up for hours, like I'm stupid enough to not hit a light switch or two before making the assumption that we don't have power, this was followed by "You didn't have electric service before the blackout," I replied "So I don't need to bother paying the bill you sent me than?" We lost about $200-300 in food. Our power provider suck.
Well, we finally have power again, after a LONG 4 days without.
