Castlevania and Metal Gear Solid Movies

i don't know what to think about this. they could turn out very very bad, or Konami might actually care (im guessing atleast with MGS), and make sure they turn out good.

Castlevania, if live action, should be directed by the guy who made Brotherhood of the Wolf. If animated, then the Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust director.

Hmm, Next year Van Hellsing should be very close to what Castlevania movie should be.

I just hope if they ever decide to actually make one, they will give it a decen budget and good director.

The Castlevania storyline doesn't really mean that much, so I could see it ending up as some generic goth adventure movie with the title "Castlevania" slapped on it to make money. MGS, though, could be very interesting if the script matched the ambitions of the game's plotlines. Imagine a MGS anime movie, produced by IG, directed by Mamoru Oshii, with a script by Masamune Shirow and Kojima.

I'd rather imagine it written by and starring David Hayter.

Shirow is the closest person I know to Kojima's MGS writing, what with all the crazy technology and political stuff.

They could get AIC (the studio that did Policenauts) to do an animated Metal Gear. Anyone who says anime doesn't work for Metal Gear must be a fucking idiot.

The only other people besides Kojima that had written Metal Gear stories were Tomokazu Fukushima (Ghost Babel and Snake Tales) and Motosada Mori (the MGS Drama CDs). I liked Ghost Babel (the Snake Tales were lame though) and I seriously looking to get ahold of the MGS Drama CDs out of curiousity.

This is a dumb idea.

I would rather neither of them get made into Anime. And if they do get made into acutal films, Castlevania should be directed by that guy who did Brotherhood of the wolf. And Metal Gear should be done by Kojima himself or David Fincher.

I got a pretty good feeling that the Metal Gear movie will turn out awsome in the end. Kojima is so close to his work that he would NEVER allow a bad movie to be made from it.
