I've Found The RIAA Workaround!
Well, after some consultation I now have a lawyer. She is a local lawyer who is part of the EFF and also supports ACLU causes. She has advised me on a very dastardly way to keep the RIAA idiots at bay and I am now here to fill you guys in on the details.
For any of you using file sharing programs, here's what you do. It might be a long and arduous task, but well worth it. In the ID3 Comments tag for all of your MP3's, place a line with text to the following effect (exact wording will depend upon your lawyer, see below): "By downloading this file, you enter a legally binding contract confirming that 1) you are not a member of the RIAA or any of its affiliates, and 2) no legal action can be taken against my service provider to obtain any information about me or to stop my internet service."
How does this protect you? Find yourself a lawyer who specializes in Breach-of-Contract lawsuits and have this lawyer draw up the legal terms for that statement and the terms for breach of the contract. Notify your ISP of this contract and tell them to notify you if they are contact to give out your information. You may then file a lawsuit against the RIAA for breach of contract.
You know how the RIAA are only looking at who is sharing files? This is where they are fucked: They cannot be sure that the files are really MP3s or even real copyrighted songs unless they download them. By downloading them, they confirm those two statements inferred in the contract and are therefore liable to your suit.
The only defense they could possibly use against your lawsuit would be the stipulation that the contract was written for an illegal activity, but if you all go to the EFF Website and sign the petition, we will hopefully clear that situation up.
BOO YAH! FUCK YOU, RIAA!
