The date for MGS: TS is supposed to be the 10th. But it's possible some retailers will get it a day earlier. Sucks that I'll have to go to my store during my day off to get my copy.
In the meantime, I've been playing the original just for fun.

IGN and Gamespot both reviewed it, 8.5 and 8.2 respectively.
Some issues they both mention:
Lack of replayability (shocking)
First person mode makes things too easy
Layout is much the same.
Nothing really shocking, about what I was expecting.
I would love to get this today, but it's not gonna be the end of the world if nobody stocks early :)
Haha well, I'm six hours from home and would like to play this with my friends who are the two biggest MGS fans I know of... so I'm hoping I can find a copy today.
I still see no mention of the GBA connectivity, maybe it's a beat the game bonus type of deal that reviewers are hush-hush about.
And I refuse to read about the game on GameFAQS, as I know I'll ruin whatever small amount of surprises I have in store for myself that way.
I'm interested to hear the "drastically altered" MGS theme music the IGN review alludes to at this point.
No GBA connectivity in the game. It was taken out prior to the final version. Considering the GBA only worked as a radar, I'll say we didn't missed much.Quote:

Well I called my local EB and they have a release date of the 11th of March so I doubt I'll be getting it today.

I just called around, and Gamestop sure as hell isn't getting it today. Tomorrow at both Gamestop and EB for people who reserved it. There should be a few for people who didn't, but best bet is Thursday or Friday like with Ninja Gaiden.
