Just wanted to mention that there is a beast of a plot analysis up at gamefaqs. It is pretty well written and clocking in at 55 printed pages. It gets into many of the underlying history, culture and current events that happen in the real world and how they relate to things in the game and why they are important to figuring the game out. Basically it answers most of the things g0zen and I were discussing and had no answers to.
Dolemite: As far as Lynch; it is only in the manner of telling the story, not the plot itself. Even then, Lynch is the best example of comparison I can come up with, it is probably not the best. Dakidski is a bit unwarranted in assuming that it is "poorly-written, full of childish mumbo-jumbo and loads of stupid bullshit" as after reading the analysis it becomes even more apparent just how "complex, multi-layered, and intelligent" it is. Really it’s only poorly tied together and way too much background information about history and culture is needed. It is almost a cruel thing to give to people: something requiring this much thought and assembly.
