The PS2 version's down to $20 new so I picked it up yesterday 'cause I'm always on the lookout for games that are different. And from what I've heard, this game fits the description.
Not too far into it, but so far it's pretty fucking weird. I like the visual style and the music, but the load times are annoying. Jury's still out, but I have a good vibe so far.
Yeah, load times on the PS2 version are pretty annoying. Should've picked up the Cube version.
If I actually had a Cube, I might have.

Definetly stick with it. It one of the best games I have played in years.
I finally started seriously playing it and am in the middle of the second mission. I can't explain it but I fucking love this game and will play it as often as possible, straight through to the end.

I feel the same way. Someone mentioned it before, but the actual gameplay is so straightforward it's compulsively playable like a 2D platformer or something. That's very refreshing, I think. The on-rails movement really distills the game down to what's important. Exploration, but with no meandering allowed. And the combat takes just enough precision to never stop being fun.
And of course that's not even mentioning the whole insane, ambitious package it's wrapped up in. It's the kind of game that keeps me playing videogames.
Well put. Your right, the game being on rails doesn't take away from the experience, but only enhances it.
