What are the details and how much are you paying? Most everything I've looked at states that Verizon has a 5 GB limit on downloads. I'm not likely to surpass this in a month, but I do want to be able to hook a netbook up to the phone for internet access when a wifi hotspot isn't around.

I played around with Verizons website and the best I could find was $100 a month for a Blackberry plan that included voice, unlimited data (for the blackberry only) and an extra $15 a month to allow tethering to the laptop with a 5 gb limit.

BTW, I ruled out the 3G since it didn't have a real keyboard. On screen keyboards can GTFO.

ARG, I want one! Verizon's new pricing schemes are annoying the shit out of me. I can't really justify the $90ish monthly bill for a Droid. I'm thinking of the Samsung Rogue now, but even that is going to be like $70/m. It's horseshit to be forced into a data plan (which is a scam in itself) just to get a phone you'd want to use.

$30 a month is what AT&T gets for umteen bazzillion iphones, so thats what the market will support. Besides, getting a phone like this without internet would be really stupid. Wifi isn't everywhere.

Yeah, but Verizon isn't the cheapest, but there is a reason for it.

You can do, 450 minutes+data= $79.99. And do your texts through google voice, or use IM.

If you work for a decent sized company, you might get a decent discount as well.

I'm currently on my dad's family plan. I'm getting my own plan later this month. I do not talk much, use text periodically, and use no data/internet/music. How is Virgin mobile as a carrier? I think prepaid would be alright for me.

You still get billed for incoming texts.

You could tell GV not to forward texts to a phone and check it online, though. Or get texts forwarded to email. If you wanted.
