Go to www.crackberry.com. Download the application call QuickPull. This does the same thing without physically removing the battery.

Yea, I'm not fond of the apps either. Majority of them are useless.

I've had this happen a couple times also. I imagine we will eventually see a firmware update to unwork the kinks.

A TNL button for the home screen would be nice, though...

Yeah, that's the thing. I have an iPod Touch so the apps thing is different. I basically want to text, call, and surf the web.

Curve/iPod8g will be $99 in May for me, so it's really a matter of which fits me better.

Thanks a lot! I actually downloaded ScreenLock on day one (on the advice of the salesman). There would be great frustration in my life without it.

I'll get the rest of that goodness this evening.

So my parents got me a Blackberry Pearl for my birthday (it was free for them but whatever). Any suggestions? This thing is kind of overwhelming, I never really wanted any of these crazy ass features. It doesn't work with bitpim so I dunno how to make it nice and themed to my tastes.

edit: sweet, IMAP email is awesome. This will be convenient.

Programs to check out:

Viigo, News, weather, RSS reader.

Slacker, free streaming radio.

Pandora, ditto.

Google mobile: super quick google lookups, google maps with gps support.
