And here is how it really works.
Nortell carries most of the signal for most cellular carriers in the world, verizon is nortells largest customer and has locked out all other companies from buying direct. So what happens is that the big V leases out the equipment inside of every tower they have (for instance Ohio has over 500) to sprint and AT&T because they can't buy direct. Also, if you have a nortell device in a rack at a sprint tower, david bruns and group has to repair/replace the equipment. So, yes, essentially verizon is carrying your signal whether you like to admit it or not.
