6.5 is getting better but it still just feels like a 1998 Dell Axiom underneath. Blackberry has spoiled me, its just so damn easy to use day-to-day. Touch Flo is like polishing a turd. It looks prettier, but its still a pain to do anything.

The Motorola with android is right around the corner too, I played with a REALLY early build of it, and it was pretty neat, but buggy as hell, and that was over 4 months ago, so it should be a lot better.

The Storm 2 is less than a month away as well, and is the phone they should have shipped from the beginning, Its soooo much better than the Storm 1, they really should give it a new name.

The camcorder on the EnV Touch is amazing, BTW. Easily the best I've ever seen on a cell. The video you capture with it is pretty crystal clear and smooth.

Now only if the battery life didn't suck...

My first 2 phones were Motorolas and they were great. That was a really long time ago, so I don't know what the company has really done since.

Motorola is really all over the place, they usually do have excellent RF though, and will hang on to calls better than most other phones.

Their quality control leaves a lot to be desired though. I remember getting a brand new Razor in once, getting it out for a customer, breaking the shrink wrap, and the phone had no screws holding it together.

And the Motorola Krave is a HUUUUGE pile of shit. I pulled them from my store 2 weeks after it launched, and refuse to sell it, but the Low end Motorola Vu204 sells a TON, and seldom has any issues.

I roll with an iphone 3gs. I think it's the best gadget ever created, but you have to dive in deeper to really get the most out of it:

-awesome video recording(hours of video, great for homemade pornos and concerts), and the camera is macro. Instead of scanning in checks and documents/notes, I just take the 3gs out and macro focus, instant scan

-perfect snes and nes emulator, but you have to jailbreak your iphone. Worry not, it is only a 10 minute process and you'll need to have firmware before 3.1 for the time being I think. Seriously, this is the first perfect snes emulator I've seen on a phone. The sound is even perfect, I was up playing Chrono Trigger for hours last night with headphones on, it was so badass. You have to play it in landscape because if you do portrait the touchscreen controls will cramp your hands, but honestly it's the best phone emulator experience I've ever had. I know this will sound fake, but there is an actual WORKING PSX emulator in the Cydia store that WORKS. I was playing Xenogears at 20fps with sound, it was almost playable. If they had more time and support I do think they could make a great PSX emulator on it.

-the apps are crazy. I have a logmein app for remote controlling unlimited amounts of computer, it works better than remote desktop. There are too many apps to name, I have a ebook reader, dog whistle, zelda ocarina app, piano, drums, guitars, slide guitars, beat makers, blah blah blah 85,000+ apps for this thing.

-itunes........I don't even use it on my desktop because itunes sucks normally, but on the iphone 3gs it is just awesome. I download podcasts and albums, and when I'm driving around I hook it to my car stereo and it works great.

The main thing you have to consider is the default iphone 3gs is not perfect, but if you jailbreak it you can access the Cydia app store and you can pretty much customize it to whatever you want. Besides all of this, it's twice as speedy as the 3G and it has onboard video so it can and will play 3d games(think playstation quality graphics).

I moved to it from a Blackberry Curve and then a Motorola Q(ugh), if the day comes out when a phone can do what the iphone does better, I'll jump ship. Until then, the 3gs is pretty much the coolest fucking thing I've ever seen.

QFT. I use almost everything you just mentioned, and I agree. Endless cool shit for the iPhones, especially when jailbroken.
