And right when I had some time to burn some CDs I've been meaning to burn. Feh. So, no one else has any suggestions, or am I fucked since it isn't on my BIOS?Quote:

Can't you run a diagnostic and repair from the control panel? Also try reinstalling windows over windows without reformatting. It's a poor mans fix but it works well enough. I had some issue recently with my PC where it would only open up in safe mode, I did that and now it's working fine enough for me to burn stuff off my HD and reformat. BTW we got Rachel a new PC today. :( The last of the parts she needs come in a few days. I want one too, I'm fucking sick of a my 700mhz Athlon and a dying HD.
Rich: Don't you actually have to create a save for that though? I don't think it does that by itself.
Windows automatically sets aside a certain amount of disk space so it can once a day put a roll back time.Quote:

If your not seeing the drive in the bios and its a newer motherboard then its prolly funked..
It's probably in the BIOS somewhere, I don't remember my CDRW/DVD being on the main page of the BIOS, but rather a sub page. Even if it's not installed correctly, as long as it's connected to a power supply, the BIOS show it. Since we obviously don't know his mobo's interface, noone can really help him with the BIOS, though.
It would be in the same place where he saw his hard drive. :)
like I said it's a good quick fix, not a permanent solution.Quote:

Um, so, is my CD-RW fucked? I hope it's just that, since I can get it replaced easily...
