The shadow of GameFan not gone yet...
Just thought I'd post this, to show that the darkness of GameFan (or, more specifically, the evil that controlled GF) still lingers and isn't done having some effect on the lives of people.
Got a package from a law office in LA on Saturday - it was a large document concerning the Express.com bankruptcy case. I'm one of a few people mentioned in the suit, due to having some wages that go unpaid to this day. On October 29th, the bankruptcy case will finally get underway - almost exactly three years after the "end" of GameFan.
If I'll actually see anything or not remains to be seen - it seems that Mr. Satan who ran the entire show made sure to keep everything as seperate as possible. The case directly involves Express.com, which (so far as I know) was pretty much running things in the later days. However, the argument against me is that it was GameFan who owed me the money, not Express.com, so I should have no right to claim any money.
I've got 15 days or so to send them evidence of why I should have a right to get my money. I've got a W2 direct from Express.com showing money paid to me, and hopefully I can find a pay stub or two with their direct name on it. And, since I'm currently working in a law firm, I've got a ton of lawyers around me who can give me advice on how best to handle this.
At this point, I almost don't care either way if I get the money, but it sure would be nice - it'd be just what I need to buy myself a G5 laptop once they come out. *heh*
Anyhow, just a little story for you.
