Any year the Yankees don't win it is viewed as a failure by the organization because that's exactly what it is. I see nothing wrong with expecting and preparing to win it all every year. If you're not playing to win the World Series, why are you playing?

One last point. Most people who complain about the Yankees success in recent years never stop to think about the many years that we didn't win a damn thing trying to get there. What about that 15 year stretch between World Series appearances from 82 to 96? Ask Don Mattingly how many titles he won in a Yankees uniform. We've been greatly successful since 96 but regardless of what you say it's because of years of hard work and the absolute determination the organiztaion has to win.

Alright before the game starts tonight, I just want to clear something up by taking a totally objective view of what happened. and review the facts not as Sox/Yankees fans, but as baseball fans.


*Pedro had no obvious reason to hit Karim Garcia. He was wrong.

*I can see why Garcia plowed into Todd walker, I just can't see why he did it with tempers obviously escalating.

*Posada looks like that rat from the muppets. Otherwise he is loyal to his team and I can see why he got in Pedro's face.

*Manny Rameriz is an idiot. Tell me we can agree on this?

*Bloomberg has no idea what went on does he?

*Pedro threw Zimmer down, and no one should attack the elderly anyway, but Zimmer never should have run at him and tried to punch him. Both parties responsible.

*The Nelson/Garcia/entire Yankes bullpen thing was I think the most disgusting thing in the whole game. As a baseball fan, and not a Boston fan, finding out that Nelson attacked first, and then listening to his post game comments (seriously guys go look up the quotes you'll see what I mean, stuff like, "Well he got in my face, we can't have that after I told him to stop waving that flag in our bullpen."), are just disgusting. The groundskeeper has clet marks on his chest and back from the whole bullpen stomping him, and apparently two cops saw the whole thing and now Nelson/Garcia are facing criminal assault charges.

*The Red Sox behaving like the children, and Red Sox fans outraged (including myself) over stupid little things and the Boston media at large (sorry PBMax I don't know what radioshow you've been listening too, but I just got done listening to Dennis&Callahan, and The big show, and both of them wrongly support Pedro).

*The Yankees press crying foul on Zimmer but conviently ignoring the fact that their bullpen mugged an innocent groundskeeper.

*The overall overreaction from Boston and New York fans when both teams behaved horribly, and both fans mimicking the behavior of their teams.

And finally...


YAWA stating that he has been wrong in looking at with red sox glasses and he respects PBMax and others for sticking to their guns on this.

Lets watch some baseball today and hope it doesn't get any worse.

I'll never concede Pedro was in the wrong when he pushed off Zimmer, he did what he had to do and nothing more.
