I'm all about it. :D
Well, you'll have to be. Since it's so big assed.<rimshot>Quote:

They had better be the best 32 songs I've ever heard in my life.
I love Donkey Kong...but why must Nintendo make me scared everytime they throw him into a game.
If the game with the controller is reasonably priced, it'll be one of the few Gamecube games I ever buy.
I'm looking forward to this game quite a bit. Good to see Nintendo do something new with their characters.
After getting over the fact that this new Donkey Kong game might as well not even be Donkey Kong at all, I must admit this sounds like it could be fun. I'm a sucker for musically inclined games I guess.
This could be great for fools like me who missed out on Samba De Amigo.

oh, and no cussing in thread names...
Pan Pan! Alright! :D
That looks so badass... Mzo needs more 'cube peripherals!
Heh...I like your sig, AstroBlue.
Hey I can do my Ricky Ricardo impersonation... bobolu, bobolu :D
Yeah, got that in a larger size? It's simultaneously cute and disturbing. I love it. :)Quote:

apparently the konga drums will also have a built in mic to detect clapping.
Why couldn't they make this game without using the DK license? They could've called it Samba de Nintendo. Still, at least in concept, it sounds cool.
There had better be "Do the Mario" as a hidden song or something, or even better, take all DK stuff out and have Mario in the game.
clapping doesn't make a PAN! PAN! noise. And if your spanish, then it means you make bread with your hands.
What the Hell is this "Junker," and "Snatcher" stuff all about?Quote:

I'll buy it if it's released here.
If not, though it looks awesome, I doubt I'll import it.
I'll get it either way... mostly because it's Nintendo. I have a soft spot in my heart for wacky music games, anyway.
C'mon, Kidnemo... you know you want it... it's taunting you ~ just like that Dragon Warrior sword.
Oh! So, is it hard to get ahold of? Sounds pretty neat.Quote:

I play all the Gitaroo-Man songs for score (100%, S Rank). I would rather do those 10 awesome songs over and over, than a lot of Bemani songs..Quote:

Another thing, a lot of the songs have different variations (especially San Bone) , so it isn't the same all the time.
Gitaroo is such a great game. My most favorite rythm game to date.
I also like Mojo King Bee. It's that smooth jazz that gets me, every time.
I've had Gitaroo for nearly three months and have yet to play it. Note to self, play Gitaroo Man.
Wow. Thanks for letting us all know.Quote:

Gitaroo Man is one of my fave music games too, but I more just play through it every month or so a couple of times and "shelf it". I'm not saying you can't play it for score, I'm just saying must people will play to finish it, as opposed to all the people who practice ddr just to get better....
Well, the four people that have actually played Gitaroo Man I should say. :D

Hyokori Hyotan Island? What the hell is that?
Seems like it'll be sorta annoying if the song title sits right in the middle of the screen the whole time.
Just got through a nice little play session of Gitaroo Man (because I know the whole world must know) and holy hell is this game ever hilarious. The character names, the opening cinema, and the training mode are all funny as could be. Not too keen on the game so far, probably due to me needing more practice. AFX, STFU.
no... thank you
That logo is priceless.

Nintendo announced they will release the conga drum music game Donkey Konga for GameCube in Japan on December 12, for 6800 yen. A Tarukonga drum controller will be released on the same day for 3000 yen each. The game supports up to 4 players simultaneously. In addition to the music game, Donkey Konga also includes remake of the classic Donkey Kong Jr. action game as mini game.
I'm buying this on day one.
I wonder if it'll work with the FreeLoader.
The Legend of Starfie theme!
GameSpot says that addtional controllers will go for around $30.
Nice pricing. I'm getting this either way, but I really hope it comes down here.
Me too, Mzo. But I'm sure that would bring back the horrors of finding an official set of Sega Samba Marraccas. *shudder*
First Movie
not really interested in the genre what so ever, but it seems like it would be fun if that's your thing.
Maybe you should try playing one of the games in the genre that isn't DDR so you could, y'know, give your opinion some merit.
hmm....fair enough. not gonna happen though. im sure the games all share the same basic idea, just different methods of input.
oh wait, i did play Drumania. yeah, i just don't dig the genre.
Oh you did? I didn't hear about that.
What was your problem with Drummania?
it's just...meh. it's not so much that i think they suck, i could definitely see how one could get into the genre to the point were they go to tourneys and shit, it's just not my thing.
Uh, ok. Well, what would the game have to do so that it -would- be "your thing"?
alright dude, you can stop fucking with me already...
but to answer you question...a game that requires full on breakdancing...that would be about it. aside from that...who can say no to head?
I'm really not trying to fuck with you, it's just that you're overly dismissive of the genre and I could never figure out why. So I'm just trying to get at the why, and not just a "well I don't like it so FOAD" answer.
Like you mention Drummania and say meh, right?
Well what's it supposed to do? Tougher songs? Easlier? Less pads? More pads? Dual bass pedals? Better interface? More licenced songs? That's what I'm getting at.
hmm...ok, i'll put it this way. fuck, i don't even know why im gonna open up this can or worms, but if i really wanted to play something that consisted of hitting something at the right time, then i'd rather invest $2 into a Simon machine instead of paying $1 for whatever random bemani game at the arcade.
my ex-girlfriend tried to get me into it, and i gave it a solid chance. they just don't apeal to me. my only interest in the genre goes as far as watching tournemant play for comedic purposes.
if im at the arcade, i'd rather play just about anything else.
Gitaroo-Man! Play Gitaroo-Man!
There still isnt any word on if this will come to the U.S., right?
How can you not want this game? :D
I just hope the "controllers" for these type of games get more responsive. They also need a mega-expert mode for games based around real instruments so that people who know what they're doing can still have fun.
That being said the "Kongas" look like a Wal-Mart special or some of the cheaper Remo kids world percussion.
Yeah.. the "Konga's" do look.. well.. kinda dumb. But, I still want the game.
at least theyre affordable, for hawt 4 player action.
This game is going to be freaking hot. :D

I was just about to post that. Hamtaro theme and the monkey rap, you can't get more retarded fun than that! You think they'll change many of the songs for a US release? Get the Seinfeld and Full House theme?
There. Hope you're happy, now, Captain Veggie.Quote:

Woo! Two good pieces of info from this thread-
1) Donkey Konga US. Yes!
2) Where the hell those two girls are from! It's been driving me nuts too. Time to investigate. :)
Tangent- A man walks into a bar with a steering wheel down his pants. The bartender asks him "Isn't that uncomfortable?" The man replies "It's driving me nuts."

It's a Scottish man, James. Otherwise the accent makes no sence. ;)

They should have had the Hamtaro ending theme instead.
hahaha I can't believe they have that Pokemon Advance theme song in there, what crazy fun.
That Pikmin commerical song was a pretty big hit in Japan. I've always been curious about what it was like.
Damn, like 90% of that sounds Japanese exclusive...
VGD is selling it for 83 bucks. IGN has a hands-on (insiders). They like it, but well, it's IGN. One interesting thing they mentioned was unlockable alternate sounds for the congo/clap hits, like 8-bit sound effect.
Has any one picked this up yet? I'm curious about the difficulty
I plan on getting one once they've been out around here for a little while, or when one comes up cheap on eBay. I want it, yes, but not enough to blow the full price just yet.
Well, I say good luck to you finding it later. Or good luck to you finding it later for less than it's original retail price. Or good luck to you finding it for an all together reasonable price.Quote:

Yep, I went into TRU yesterday and saw a set of Kongas attached to the 2nd player side of the kiosk. Pretty funny to see. When does this thing hit stores?
