TNL Los Angeles Get Together

yeah so, i bumped into Stone tonight at a book store (i recognized him because of the post your own picture thread), turns out he just moved here. anyways, we talked for a minute, and came to the conclusion that we'd hang out soon enough.

anyways, since Diffusionx lives about 10 minutes away, MVS living like 30 minutes away, Chojin lives a few blocks away, and i know there's atleast 3 or so others that live in the area, i figured we should plan some kind of get together or whatever if you guys are up for it.

anyways, anyone in the Los Angeles area, post in here and maybe we can plan something.

i was thinking we could hit up an arcade and get a bite to eat or something, but im open for whatever suggestions really.

anyways, who's up for it?

Well, if it happens to come on a weekend when I'd be in town visiting relatives, half my Dad's side of the family lives in La-La Land, I'd love to swing by and hook up with you guys. :)

As it is, though, 4 hours is too far to drive from LV to LA even for a little TNL get together :(

It would either have to be on a weekend, or after I get out of work at 6. I work in Woodland Hills, live in Long Beach. Don't ask why that happened, either. :)

Hehe. That's pretty bad; Stone's my buddy in real life, but you've seen him more recently than I have. :eek:

It would probably be cool to nerd it up for a while, but keep in mind I dont have a car.

sounds good to me too! BenT lives about five minutes away from me (damn I've gotta call him), so I'll invite him too in case he misses this thread. As for DiffusionX, I wouldn't count on it. I once invited him to a hangout but apparantly he's too cool or above hanging out with people from online or from TNL. He 'doesn't do that' so I'd count him out. For the hangout, just let me know in advance as I am super duper busy.

i think Diffx will be down, we made plans to do something this next weekend, or the one after.

but yeah, definitely get BenT in on this.

me, BoxDrink, and NGEFreek apparently live in the same city. me and Box met Freek at the school arcade one day. who'd a thunk?

a meeting in LA seems do-able. its a 2 hour drive, but thats not too bad.

In two weeks there is absolutely no way I will be able to do it.

NGE and Boxdrink live in Escondido. i used to live there, too, but moved to San Marcos 2 months ago. its only like a 2 minute drive. we're roughly 30 minutes north of San Diego.

Ok, yes, before I came to Orange County, I lived in Temecula. So I know all about the area. :-)

I absolutely cannot do it that weekend... and I will be busy for roughly the next 3 or 4 weekends after that. But like I indicated, I only half-heartingly want to do this so feel free to schedule it on a day that conflicts with me.

Okay, so here are the people who are interested or iffy and the dates/times they are cool with, updated when the user posts:

Calliander/SapphirePhoenix: 10/17 after 6:00, 10/18 after 5:00, 10/19 anytime. Weekdays are pretty much ruled out.
Lucas Barton: Anytime, let him know in advance.
Stone: Knowing Stone, probably weekends.
Prince Planet: Anytime, let him know in advance.
DHG Otaku: Anytime, let him know in advance.
Hero: ?
Rhydant: ?
MVS: ?
diffusionx: ?
Stormy: Anytime, let him know in advance.

So MVS, diff and Stormy aren't too sure. Rhydant is up for it, but it's a long drive for him. Hero needs cash. Just post the times you guys are cool with if you can make it on the 17th, 18th, or 19th. Or, suggest a better day/time. Whatever. Oh, and MVS - you'd get to meet the girl who won your riddle thread if you show up (Sapphire).

I live in OC/Irvine so Rhydant can drive to my place, and then we can carpool with Ben or something. Speaking of Ben, someone email or ICQ him a link to this thread. :P As for dates, I *should* be free whenever AS LONG as you guys let me know in advance! And MVS you better make an appearance since you're unwilling to trek down to OC and hang. :P

Do you go to the Costa Mesa mall often? I think it really suckzors.

LOL, I rather like the South Coast Plaza (in Costa Mesa)! :P 'Course nearly all the game stores in the area dried up, THREE of 'em, including the one I worked at, and the one across the street that drove us out of business. I agree...between L.A. and SD sounds TIGHT. :P

Well Stone, SapphirePhoenix and I are busy on the 18th, so the 18th is out of the question, which leaves the 19th, which probably also isn't good. No Sundays are good for me. The weekend after that I have to work on Saturday.

I'd be up for something during the week in LA itself, but it would have to be after 6pm, since I get out of work then. I work in Woodland Hills, so it'll take me like 30 minutes to get to the 10 into LA or it'll take me a while to get down the 101. Just let me know a date and place.

I think Tuesdays have the best traffic on the 10/101 east. When is Dolemite hanging out?
