Just slow mo when he's in the air and beat him. When he goes down turbo beat him and then just jump and avoid his spiral attacks.

*EDIT*: I just read the thoughts over at Penny Arcade and noticed a complaint about not being able to skip the cutscenes. That's not true. To skip cutscenes simply press the Z button. Just figured I'd let everyone know in case they were getting pissed at having to sit through the cutscenes over and over.

It took me a few tries to figure out the best way to kill him. Only read ahead if you are truly desperate for help. I found it very satisfying when I did it on my own. :D

Every so often he will hit the ceiling and drop some large rocks(Stalactites) on you. Try and kick one of them at him. You may have to be in slow mode for it to reach him. If it hits, he goes down. Once on the ground, beat the snot out of him. As long as you can dodge his attacks and hit him with the rock, this is a fast and easy battle. I hope this helps.

For Bat-Man, you can also do slow-mo when he is spiraling at you, punch him in the face then mach speed his ass.
I am LOVING this game. It's everything I expected it to be. One question, how do I get past the "bus jumping the ditch" scene?
I'm ashamed in myself, due to my perfectionism, I've made like no progress in the game. I keep redoing the current level because I always know I can do better. This game will last a long time. :D

Jump ontop of the bus and hit the slow mo. The flames from the back of the bus gradually get bigger. Release slow at the right time and the bus should easily clear the jump.
I thought most action games involved repetition. Hmmmmm, I think attempting to get "A" and "V" grades lowers the feeling of repetition. In order to get high marks you have to use your total arsenal creatively. It becomes alot more then standard beatem'up fare.
Game of the year for me...so far...
The only thing that bugs me is that there is no High Score section or Score Attack type mode. I know I'd be spending a lot of time in a score attack mode perfecting my skills.
And so far, I'd agree with the Game of the Year statement.
well, it lives up to my Game of E3 2003 statement, but i dunno about game of the year.
still, im having a blast with it still. just so damn satisfying.

I'm now stuck on that damn shark boss and his stupid energy regenerating ability. Any tips on old finny? I got the whole bomb-in-the-mouth thing, but that doesn't seem effective enough.
I just found something out yesterday. When in slow, you can also hold down Mach speed to slightly boost your speed. Yeah, I'm "slow"...

I'd love to help you out, but I haven't reached him yet, I'm still trying to "perfect" the second half of his level. You may want to check out the message board for Viewtiful Joe over at Gamefaqs, I'm sure someone asked for help on him before. I don't know for sure though because I stay out of any topics like that. I don't want to spoil anything for myself. You say something about a bomb, did you try slowing down when the bomb blows up? If it blows up that is. That should magnify the explosion causing a lot of damage(like what you had to do to the mid boss). Just an idea, probably won't help because I've never seen the boss face to face yet. ;)
