Superstition, could you please upload the rest of the posters? Thanks.
Oh, and while I'm here, check out the theme to level 2-1. It's awesome:

Just bought this game. It's extremely fun but the person who put lives in the game deserves to be lined up and his legs hacked off with a chainsaw.
Ridiculous. Just let me try over and over. It's really fun but then I have to start over again.
I don't even understand why the lives counter is two digits...I never went above 3 lives at any given point throughout my frist play through in adult. I guess you can buy lives but that gets way too expensive...is there a way to earn a life other than getting the life powerup?Quote:

Bah, I think it's nice to have a challenging game.
Too many of the games today are waaay too easy.
I'm just on the first level. But whenever I try to hit the cowboy Joe always misses. i'm right next to him, in slow mo before he fires and I miss. Then Joe dodges a bullet and my Henshin comes off because it wastes the meter.
It's fun. But if I have to continuasly repeat levels just because they were to fucking lazy to put a check point in, instant return.
Starting from the save point is what gives this game challenge. You have to be good to make it to the boss and still have enough life to beat it.
Sure it can get frustrating sometimes, but if it wasn't this way you could beat the game in a couple hours.
Are you playing on Kids difficulty? Because if not you really should restart on it. Kids is more then hard enough for your first play through.Quote:

Well I don't mind if I get my ass kicked in the game. That's fine. Because it's fun to get your ass kicked. But don't put me all the way back to the beginning when I'm at the stage boss. That's just silly and more frustrating.Quote:

isn't there a save point in each episode? anyway, it doesn't bother me any. if anything it makes me play better knowing that the game won't hold my hand all the through.

is kid's mode really that much easier?Quote:

Exactly. It was great to see Capcom having a tough and challenging gameplay and Bosses in VJ(just like in DMC), that made dj agry and me laughing :pQuote:

The part that drives dj mad is the fact that each level you start with very limited amount of film, and have to gather more and more as you procede. It works well in some levels, but in above mentioned M5 level, you just dont have time or enough Vs and have to fight the bosses in weakened state.
Significantly.Quote:

ehh...I skipped over kid's mode and the only thing that seems hard are the boss fights and even those turn extremely easy once you learn the boss pattern or find an abusable move
but I keep hearing that the magnificant 5/leo will monkey-stomp me into the ground....I'll find out soon enough I guess
I dunno. If it's like this on kids mode I'm going to return it. I may suck, but I'm not going to play only 1 level of a game because I suck at it. I can get to the helicopter now without even using any continues and I still get killed no matter what.
I believe it was Level 2 with the happy red juice power-up. Now I'm gonna strive for that 9999 goal...Quote:

You can also kick the Biancas to make them fly diagonally upwards and punch them to make them fly straight out in front of you. The 'copter's not always above you, so choose your attacks wisely.
yeah I figured that out (the dodging) and how you could hit the rockets. But sometimes they'd go for the white robots which I hadn't killed.
Kids mode is 10x easier. I'm not willing to put too much time in to a game, especially when it's reptetitive. This game is awesome. I'm having a blast.
I'm sort of a main stream gamer. I don't care what I play, as long as I have fun.
Ok, I finished the game on Kids and the credits rolled. Now I'm at the image at the end that says "Everyone loves a hero. Everyone loves you." and nothing happens. Do I just turn the system off? I don't wanna turn it off if I'm not supposed to (incase I unlocked something), do?
I'm stuck at the part with the barrels.

Regus, if that's true, that'll make dodging Gran Bruce that much easier for me.
Here are the other posters I scanned in. I'll post the remaining ones a little later.
All right, it's later. Here are the rest of the posters.
Turns out in my celebration of winning the nob on the bottom of my wave birn (controling which channel it's on) turned... so it wasn't connected with the receiver in the 'cube. Doh!
That's happened to me twice now. The worst is thinking the batteries are dead and replacing them, only to find out the controller still won't respond. Finding out that it was set on the wrong channel makes me feel like a total noob.Quote:

Yeah man. That's definitely some good art there.
I like them a lot. Are they actual posters?
I'd love to have a full movie poster sized um.. poster of any of those on my wall. Especially "The Viewtiful Escape" or "Joe & Silvia"
Damn, double post. Sorry. If a mod could deleate it'd be great.
Where are those pics are from? VJ strategy guide?
They look awesome.
Not actual posters, but chapter heading pages in the strategy guide. I particularly love the homage to Hammer Films' Horror of Dracula. :)Quote:

Despair, you should at least look at the guide to see Alaster's human form. It bears more than a little resemblence to a certain devil hunter you know.
When we went to EB last time, dj was looking in the guide for some VJ tips, but I didnt looked at the poster art :(
I will definately make sure to stop at EB again, and go through the guide, page by page now :)
Here is a tip for Gran Bruce that may help you. When he is about to do his rushing bite attack, get on the highest platform near the door you entered the room through. When he comes at you, press down & jump to fall through the platform & run to one side, when he stops & comes at you again jump back on the platform & walk over his head in the other direction & wait for him to come at you again. You can keep doing this in a triangular pattern over & over, it will tire him out & make sure that he is near you & out of the water when he stops.Quote:
Regus, if that's true, that'll make dodging Gran Bruce that much easier for me.
JM
Or just stay on the platform right next to either left or right walls, and when he does rush attacks, just keep jumping over him until he gets tired, and then Slow + Zoom him till he runs away. Just make sure to follow him, when he escapes into the water, otherwise he will recover alot of life back.
Well, I haven't reached him on V-Rated mode yet, but when I do, I'll definately give it a try. I forgot how easy he was on Kids mode. I played it again last night as was able to take him out in about 20 seconds thanks to the Red Hot One Hundred.
I've been getting insane V-points playing as Sylvia. Her FX meter goes down half as fast as Joe's leaving her plenty of time for combos and now that I can run faster in slo-mo, they don't have a chance.
I made it to the magnificant five last night. The first four fights were pretty easy since all the old patterns and tactics still applied, so I'm running through them thinking I'm the shit until I made it up to Fire leo, who beat me like a runaway slave and sent me to bed early
What's a Red Hot One Hundred?
Zoom in and hold punch
It's even better if you slow, as well.
Slow combined with that move makes wonders :)
M5 Bosses might have the same old patterns, but it doesnt make them any easier, especially with low VJ time as you start the level.
Yes indeedy.
...although, it seems like Hulk drops fire and starts the missiles more often...
Slow Red Hot Hundred knocked the West Side of Manhatten right out of him, though.
Don't you also have to hold down to uppercut?Quote:

Sweet I'll have to give that a try.

This game needs multiplayer, badly. I would limit the amount of VJ you have so you have to use it sparingly.
Well, Maybe if VJ successful, Capcom can do SSBM stlye game for it, just like they do with Onimusha Buraiden.
Multi-player my ass. We need a sequel in the same vein, and fast!
This may have already been answered, but this is a long thread so...
Is there any point to beating the game multiple times on the same file?
You can unlock different chars (in Adult Mode and up) to play as and you can unlock a version of Joe with unlimited V meter if you get all V rankings for the levels in the game.Quote:

After smashing the guy on the left I jumped up and punched the guy in the air and he went flying vertically to the right. The cool thing about this was that I had aligned just right that when I quickly ran after him, the guy flying through the air smashed through every chandalier and axe swing suit of armor until he smashed into the end wall, in which I jumped up and did a red hot kick to finish him off. Viewtiful would be a great way to describe this combo.
Can you get all the V's to unlock Super Joe in Kids mode, or does it have to be on Adult or higher?
im assuming youre referring to the unlimited vfx thing, i read somewhere it has to be on adults or higher.
Close to finishing V-rated.
The part where you have a bunch of Metal Leos in the back is hard as heck.
Anyone have any tips on defeating the shark boss? I made it up to him last night and it just turned into a big cluster fuck.
Some members posted advice one page earlier. You might want to check it out for a little help on dodging him.Quote:

Japtor: You are correct, the unlimited VFX mode (the one you need all rainbow viewtiful scores to unlock). Anyone know for sure?
Finally beat Leo today after a week long break.
I did this on kids mode, and I would be surprised if this worked on harder difficulties. All I did was jump right in front of him from the get go, and did slow-zoom and kept punching him. He died in like 10 seconds and I got a V rating. I was disapointed, but hopefully you can't do that on all the difficulties.Quote:

I finally beat V-Rated. Ultra V-Rated is crazy since you don't have the skull markers.
Despair, you just might like Alastor since he really does bear a resemblance to Dante. Playing as him is kinda wierd since you have to manually activate his Henshin form. His sword combos are bad-ass, though.
Other stuff done by the voice actor of Joe (Dee Bradley Baker) and Alastor (Mikey Kelly)
Heck, here's Captain Blue/King Blue & the narrator (Gregg Berger).
Yeah, I need to get used to his playing style if I'm gonna be using him regularly. Sucks ass that you can't use any of the moves he uses as a boss. I wanted to use his air raid. Oh well, just gotta beat Ultra V-Rated now so I can use Captain Blue. After that, the nigh impossible task of scoring all Rainbow V's. Ügh, not looking forward to this.Quote:

From IGN:
Quote:
Capcom has announced Viewtiful Joe Revival for the Japanese GameCube. This budget re-release of the original Viewtiful Joe will be sold for 3980 yen ($40) and will include a new "Sweet Mode" tuned for mega difficulty.
A release is set for 12/18. The original title was released to Japan on 6/26 to unimpressive sales. Capcom currently has no plans for this re-release to come to the United States
from gameforms

so is it an even harder difficulty like IGN says or an even easier oneQuote:
Online retailer NCS reported in their daily update today that Capcom has solicited a re-release of the GameCube hit Viewtiful Joe. The re-release, titled Viewtiful Joe Revival, will sport "Sweet Mode," an additional difficulty level even easier than the existing Kids Mode. The existing difficulty levels will remain, for those who are more interested in a challenge.
Viewtiful Joe Revival is slated for a December 18 release in Japan for the price of 3980 yen (~US$35). Capcom did not announce the game for any additional regions, so those interested should look into importing for now.
To me it sounds like IGN is saying it's an even easier mode, pretty simply. I've heard that echoed at a few other places as well.
is there a point to that? how easy does it have to be?Quote:

Ah.. I missed out on this game for awhile and decided to pick it up for 30 bucks. I'm definately feeling the style of this game and the gameplay is just awesome.
Can someone tell me how they do their long and cool combos? I would go through this thread, but it's too damn long. Thanks in advance~ :)
The game rocks, and is pretty much only hard if you don't get the hang of the combo's.
Get the hang of the combos?
You mean randomly jamming on 'X' and 'Y'? Of course, there is always the Red Hot 100 that'll get you through the game very easily...
Slow down, Zoom In, hold Punch. You win. Fatality.
