I plan on buying Disgaea and FFX on Black Friday. (Hopefully Kingdom Hearts, too, if it's Greatest Hits by then.) But there are a number of RPGs that I'm on the fence about.
Are Wild Arms 3, Legaia, .hack and & Arc the Lad for PS2 worth buying for $30 or less?
Yes to Arc the Lad and .hack (if you're going to get them all).
Never played WA3, but I hear Legaia sucks.
Get Shadow Hearts, if you looking for PS2 rpgs and havent played it yet. Great game, and hopefully you can still find it.

But back then I did. I have heard good things about this game on this board, and you guys have never done me wrong, so I should check this out. Should be super-cheap by now.
Dont believe the reviews for Shadow Hearts. As I explained many times before, it had misfortune to come out right before FFX was released, and got completely overshadowed by it :(
If you looking for something different than your usual rpg mold, then SH is great choice. A horror rpg, with cool characters, unique style and battle system, dark and gothic storyline, great music and and some good humor and character interaction thrown it.
And man, that review sucks. Its like they want to bitch about the game just for the sake of bitching :(
I liked both Legaia's, but the first was markedly better. Give the second a fair shake and you'll it isn't as bad as everyone would have you believe.
Wild Arms 3 is very, very slow to start, and sometimes your destinations and exact objectives are a bit confused, but over all it's a decent game. If it's $30 or less I say buy it.
.hack I honestly couldn't tell you about.
Arc the Lad is a brilliant piece of PS2 gaming, assuming it's Twilight of the Spirits you're talking about. Definitely pick it up.
The demos of Wild Arms, Legaia and Arc left me not wanting to buy any of them. None of them seemed bad per se, but they just seemed like games I couldn't picture myself playing all the way through. For me, an RPG today has to really stand out for me to play through the whole game. I also played .hack briefly and it looked okay, very PSO-ish.
I love Legaia 2, the story's not as great as the original's, but the battling is better.
I love me some .hack Sure, the graphics arent top notch, and sure the battle system is fairly easy, but good god the story is where it's at. I've play up through three (Probably about halfway through three) and can't recommend it enough.
The official TNL word on Wild Arms 3. To say: the graphics are beautiful and the side quests are tons of fun, but everything else is unmemorable. Supremeo RPG fans should buy it for $20, I'd buy it for $10 or $15.
I was going to give the game a lower score (probably a "C") but, word to the wise, TNL is totally in Sony's pocket.
