Hunter: The Reckoning - Redeemer

I'm bored, and in my boredom I decided to create a Hunter thread, because I like White Wolf's "World of Darkness."

I'm no LARPer (Live Action Role-Player), so don't think I'm that special kind of weird-O, and I'm also not "so Goth I should be dead," I simply like the well crafted world they've created, and just how diverse it truely is.

Hunter, being the only WW franchise to date to get it's own video game series, and a great one at that, is blessing us with yet another adventure: Redeemer.

I think it looks great. I've seen stills, and I've played Wayward, and there is no comparison. Redeemer's stills look 10x better than Wayward does in motion, though I can't say that's a supprise (*rimshot*).

ANyone else play the first one and looking forward to this one?

EDIT: I am aware that Vampire has seen it's share of games, so I probably should amend my post to read as follows:

I played Reckoning when that came out, I thought it had a pretty cool story but the gameplay got old real quick. Redeemer, as you said, looks pretty damn slick in screenshots. If they make it more than a standard kill everything that moves beat-em up (with a large emphasis on guns), then it could be interesting.

Haven't read anything good about Wayward, so I steered clear of that one.

I hear a lot about White Wolf but I had no clue what it was. The first Hunter was good with friends but nothing memorable.

Well, First game was decent multiplayer fun. It did had quite a few flaws(like annoying autoaiming), and I hope those will be taken care of in the sequel.

The theme and presentation was pretty cool though, and I liked leveling up aspects of the characters.

We still need to finish it up though. Since Dj is home today, maybe we will play it :)

I've heard there is a playable werewolf character in this one, I've yet to get confirmation though... if this is true I will definately be picking this up ;) :D

Are you kidding? I thought the guns sucked! Why waste time shooting up zombies when two swings of my very large axe will bring them down?

Well, I was calling it a beat-em up, and since there was a lot of shooting (in addition to slashing), I felt it was worth clarifying. If I remember correctly every character had their melee attacks and their ranged attacks as well.

Yeah, if you COUL ONLY AIM the weapon right.

Just played some more with Dj, and damn, few things in this game suck. Like the ever appearing zombies that like to materialize right where you stand, and do cheap hits on you, before you can move away. :curse:

heh. that happened in the first Hunter too. I played with Burg and Tron; game pissed us off to no end also because of the crappy camera angle.

There's nothing wrong with the camera. Were you guys standing on your heads or something?

Yes, that is correct, but everyone's melee weapon put the ranged weapons to shame, especially if you used your Edge a lot. The only guns worth using were the special pick-ups, but even then I prefered the melee.
