YOU, my friend, were "barreling" your way over the edges all night. Way to make sure nobody secures 8th place.Quote:

This game = frustrating.
Try dropping down the item rate to "basic" from reccomended, makes it quite a bit more enjoyable.Quote:

It's not based on skill at all, it's seriously retarded. As there are no points tables or name entry, noone cares really where they come as after the race you instantly get dumped back to the LAN setup screen. All the other gameplay modes like shine thief suck also. Worst game i've played in a long time. It could be ok in single player but I doubt it.

Holy crap that sounds a lot worse than without lan and multiplayer. And as for the homing shells, it is actually quite easy to counter with other items and avoid if you are skilled enough.
Ok, this is what I don't get. The multiplayer was the WORST part about MK 64. The multiplayer in DD is SO much better not to mention the bomb mode rocks all. If you honestly are having problems with the game, either learn some gaming skills or get another game. MK:DD is rediculously easly until you start playing the special cup.Quote:
Thing is, Mario Kart has been known for being one of the best multiplayer games so it just got brought down with DD.
And everything except for the lightning and the spiked blue shell is avoidable.
If you can't dodge them, use the girls because they have that rotating heart thing that not only blocks all traps and red abd green shell but gives them to you use. Because they were obviously made for pansies like you to use.
100% agreed.Quote:

I expected a lot more from Double Dash. I honestly forgot about this game until this thread got bumped, and I still have no motivation to want to play it.
I didnt like Super Circuit at first but it really grew on me... if DD is as shitty as you guys say it is (and I would trust omfgninjas and Sidez over kbuchanan and SpoDaddy any day), then that would be the best MK.
When I first bought Super Circuit, I didn't even play through the entire game before putting it aside for something else. After playing Double Dash for a couple of days (and destroying the pathetically easy single player mode) I found myself playing Super Circuit more and more. It really is the best Mario Kart out there... not only does it have great control, challenge, and track design, it also has all the original SMK tracks. For single player Mario Kart, it doesn't get better than this.
