you know ?
Yeah, it is a whole lot smoother but there's a good kick to coffee that I really like. There's a pub here that has the meanest, best coffee I've ever had.
I don't drink coffee as a matter of course -- in other words, I only drink it when I have no choice in the matter.
But when I do, I have to put so much cream and sugar in it that it becomes the most unhealthy substance known to mankind. That's the only way I can stand it. But some coffee places serve coffee that's so strong that nothing in the world can save it from tasting nasty...
I'm really only referring to standard coffee, though. I've never had a frappe or frappucino or mocha or anything like that. Maybe those are better, but damned if I'm going to drop $5 or more on a drink I more than likely won't like...
(I should also note that I have no preference on kinds of coffee. My sense of smell is shot so all coffee tastes the same to me no matter what...)
I don't like standard coffee at all (or espresso by itself), but I usually make lattes with just enough sugar to mask the bitterness. Too much sugar in a mixed drink like that makes me feel strung-out.
Coffee tastes like shit. If I need a caffene fix, I prefer tea.
Mildly interesting but mostly nerdy fact: while tea may have as much or more caffeine as coffee, your body doesn't absorb the caffeine as readily due to the considerably larger portion of tannins (plant compound) present which tend to prevent absorption by coating esophagus, stomach, etc.
DAMNIT! no really, that is truely upsetting to me.
any one hear of the espresso tax they're trying to pass here in seattle? seeing that we drink so much of the stuff. Comments?
