Wonder if that means we'll see 2nd upgrade disc in the future (or not)?
"This disc is for free. It is not a bonus or an update - not at all. This is our way to thank all our American fans - to follow them and support them. We don't want them to be disappointed and we would prefer them to [experience] the game as [international gamers] after them [have]. This means they can acess new costumes (one of the main points in the game) and the opening CG movie included in the Japanese version. The European version would be the same as the Japanese.
Later he states "I would like to stress the following point...I mean I want it very clear... this is not an update. I made a promise to the American users back at the time the game was released,. I promise they would not suffer any lack of content to following conversions of the game for other markets. So users in the US would not have to import the Japanese version. You would be able to download one costume or all of them in one time on the hard drive."
Adding new moves would then make the JPN/Euro versions pale in comparison. Would've been nice, but this is a precursor to what developers can do with the Xbox in the future. It's always been a vision in the past, but now is finally a reality.
The "patch" grimace is really not something to be stressing...I mean, it's not like this is done to "repair" bugs, so the term seems a bit inapporpriate. Expansion pack would be a bit more suitable, and I am sure all DoA3 fans appreciate the effort that was made. It gives the opportunity for many more developers to follow Tecmo's example in the immediate future.
