As you may or may not know, The Mars Volta will be at Roseland Ballroom on Oct. 24th. As you probably don't know, TMV is one of my favorite bands. There is a long stoy that explains why I didn't get tixx, but that is superfluous now. I'll get to the point. Does anyone have any extra tickets? PLEASE? I'm desperate...
What type of music is it?
Ive seen it described as punk floyd...
basically, kind of hard to categorize, but definetly a derivative of rock.

Roseland is awful. It's gigantic and the sound is terrible. :\
I didn't know The Mars Volta was from NYC.
The only time I've ever heard them, aside from MP3s I downloaded, was on australian radio. (That says a HELL of alot for north american radio.)
They're pretty good, though. They remind me a bit of some of I Mother Earth's lengthier stuff.
Didn't they play at Irving Plaza last month?
I wish I could go to that show, the Mars Volta is an awesome band. Too bad it's hard to get good shows since Hampton Roads is like the world's biggest culdesac.
The Mars Volta (and the former At The-Drive In) is one of my favorite bands. I'm actually listening to Take The Veil Cerpin Taxt right now. Best I could describe them would be abstract post punk rock.
