According to a PEEL poster, the first DVD movie should be out before Xmas. Rough Draft is taking the project seriously - and is firing people who leak info on the movie. Here's that post -New Futurama before the end of the year FTW!Quote:
The source that I have is being very quiet about anything Futurama - this person says the security about the project is unreal and RDS will terminate any employee leaking any info about the show. I only post what they give me permission to say, because I don't want a post to cost somebody their job. All the voice actors have signed gag clauses - they can only speak about the project when RDS gives them permission and they are scripted in what they can say or face legal prosecution and pay heavy fines.
RDS does read this board - a lot of the stuff that is going into the project is based on the popularity of certain subjects discussed on PEEL (playing to the base, I guess). They are forbidden to read fanfics because they don't want to be sued over plagerizing somebody else's ideas.
The last time I got an email from my source was two weeks ago - said person believes that the first DVD will be released a lot sooner than X-Mas 2007, but had no specifics. The first DVD production and editing is suppose to completed by late October/early November of this year. RDS fears that if the project is shelved too long, then there is the chance that a copy will make it to the bootleg market, then to the net, thus killing sales. RDS really wants to push the DVD this X-Mas, but there's the problem with dealing with FOX (who owns the project) and other intricate tangibles.
