Radiant Silvergun: Yeah, I know it's been brought up before but I think it should be the poster boy for frothing demand. The game is awesome, but $200 awesome? I'm not too sure about that. I'm sure some here think so and I respect that but I can't see why it should be so expensive.
Dracula X (PC-Engine CD): Awesome game but "rare?" Ebay gauges people for this all the time. I got mine for $100 complete and in great condition and I got off kind of cheap. I love how you can pull up at least 3 or 4 auctions for this "rare" game at any time (there are 5 on ebay right now).
Gleylancer (MD): I just tried this one out and while it's a nice shmup with great scrolling backgrounds, it is in no way worth $100. There are many shmups better than this worth half as much.
Panorama Cotton (MD): I paid $150 for this (no teacup!) and while I enjoyed the game immensely, I couldn't help hoping there would be a little more bang for my buck.
Lots of AES games: Metal Slug anyone?
Some games, IMO, are priced prety fairly, considering their quality and rarity. For example:
Monster World IV: I got this game complete for $75 and it was well worth it. The game is one of the best the MD has to offer and should be experienced by everyone (especially with the English patch now available for PC). Great game at a great price.
Shadowrun (Genesis): Very cool cyber punk rpg that's not easy to find in complete condition. Usually runs in the $20-$35 range, making it quite affordable.
MVS games: Get a Supergun, board, or Phantom converter and you're all set.
As a gamer, there are many times I'll bite the bullet and take the plunge on an expensive purchase (just got my Phantom 1 converter. Best. purchase. ever) but sometimes you've got to wonder...
