Most overpriced games?

The most I remember spending on a game was $147 for SS Battle Garegga. I was heavily into impulse game-buying then (about 2 years ago) and bought up anything with good word of mouth behind it.

Was it worth it? No. Not only because of the gameplay, but the case I got was beat up and the manual was water-worn and torn at one edge.

MD Battle Mania II is running in the $150 range, but I've decided to wait on that game indefinitely. At that price, I don't care if I never own it, though I'll always be checking for something closer to $80.

I got the PCB for less than that :D

GOOD LORD! I sold this thing for like $150 last year and I thought I got a good return on it considering what a crap game it is. I guess it's considered good by association to it's big brothers and thus in high demand, but, man is that one terrible-ass game. I sincerely feel sorry for whomever paid that kinda scratch for it.

Fun fact: The guy who won that auction didn't pay, and I was the second highest bidder. The guy running the auction offered me the game and, hey hey, I bought it.

I already had a loose copy of the game I had gotten from a friend, but due to me being an AVID collector of all things Panzer Dragoon (note: I could make a Neo Geo collector feel sane about some of their purchases) I had to have a mint/complete copy.


Was it worth it? Well, it certainly looks nice chilling next to the LE Xbox, the plush Lagi, the LE Orta sculpture by Takayuki Takeya, and the entire library of sealed soundtracks (although I really wish a certain board member would hurry up with my second copies of said soundtracks so I could actually listen to them... grrr). ;)

Yeah... that game sucks too.

You mean Alien Soldier? Only the JP Version is extremely expensive. The PAL version is much cheaper.

I too, at first, was not a fan of the game. I couldn't get past the first boss without getting pwned :\ . After learning the ropes though (which is tough!) the game becomes a non-stop boss battle blast (HOLY CRAP!)!!! It is now one of my favorite games ever.

That controversial "You don't like it because you suck" applies to Alien Soldier somewhat.
