How do you feel about storms/rain

One thing I can't live without: storms/lightning/rain. Some of the most intense phenomenon. Fun to drive in, great for certain kinds of music. I loved storm chasing when I lived in the Midwest. Those spring storms would whip up into a wild frenzy, and sometimes you could even see the a funnel cloud descending from the sky. Anyway, how does everybody else feel about storms/rain/lightning?

Do you think rain is more soothing than depressing, or the other way around?
Does anyone enjoy walks out in the rain or storms? Do you use an umbrella or not? (I don't :) )
Does anybody chase storms?

I love it. I find rain and storms very soothing and enjoyable. The only time I don't like rain is miserable freezing rain in winter that you feel in your bones. Other than that, it's bliss. :nod:

I used to love watching thunderstorms over the ocean when I used to live in NJ. One time I was sitting on a terrace overlooking the ocean and I saw a lightning bolt hit the street in front of me. It was an astonishing sight. :eek:

Walks in the rain are nice. I usually use an umbrella unless it's summer. :)

i love the rain. i dont know why people hate it.....i mean you dont have to shovel it. i never use a rain coat/umbrella. my girl always calls me up during a rain storm. they depress the hell out of her but i love them so it works out.

i love thunder storms

lightning/thunder storms scare me. i've always had a fear of being struck by lighting. one time....maybe about a year ago i was sleeping in my living room when a storm came through the area....i was having a dream at the same time and int he dream there was a storm as well...outside (in reality) there was this big crash of thunder and lightning and in my dream i was actually struck by the lightning....i woke up emidiately screaming and shaking like i was gonna die or some shit. i do like it when it rains in the summer though....not too heavy...while under an ubrella with someone you care about. it's nice.

Storms rule and its always funny to see one sucker running against the wind, like in the movies.

I made a thread a few months ago title "I HATE lightning". Most of the time it rains down here we get severe lightning storms, and since the house is made of crummy wood, has a metal roof and a giant metal rod (billboard) behind it, I don't feel safe. It drives me nuts. I used to love storms and lightning, but the more I thought about it the more it's made me anxious, and now just a good rain will wake me up in the night:/

I love anything that falls out of the sky. I also love how storms tend to cow people; they're less likely to act like assholes when it's pouring rain and flashing lightning.

I'm scared to death of lightning. I was probably killed by it in a past life. I drove straight into a severe storm a couple months ago and had to pull over because I was so petrified.

Rain is nice, just as long as my car runs in it. Here's some good advice - get your car a tune-up every once in a while! My car's a '89 (w/ over 100,000 miles on it) and the guys at the shop said my spark plugs, wires, and distributor cap were all original. That ridiculous, and at the same time, awe-inspiring. Thank you, Ford Motorcraft.

Anyway, rain - yes. Thunder/lightning - no, please.
