Transformers: Energeon

I just finished watching Season 3 pt. 2 and Season 4 and I must say, Rebirth pt. 1, 2, and 3 were unnecessary. The way season 3 ended was perfect. "The will be no war today, Prime. You have earned Galvatron's respect." AWESOME! And though the Headmasters, Targetmasters, and Six Shot are some of the best Transformers ever, that 3 parter was just too much.

I loved it, but in conjunction with the rest of the series, it just didn't fit. I know it was tacked onto the end as mearly a three part commercial, and as such was bound to feel disconnected, but that still doesn't make me feel any better about it.

Because technically it was supposed to be the start of season 4, but they canned it so there were never more than those 3 episodes. It probably would have felt more natural if there was an entire season dedicated to it. It was necessary to get things rolling for Season 4, but Season 4 came to such an abrupt end it really does feel out of place.

Alot of people don't consider that three parter to be "official", and I'm surprised Rhino put it on there.

Probably because they knew the fan boys would eat their ass for leaving it off.

That and sense a lot of people don't consider it "official" they may have felt a single run of a 3 ep DVD for it would not have sold well, or at all, sense fans are the main people buying these sets. This choice probably was the most safe, money wise.

Actually, season 4 was planned for only five episodes: Reborth pt. 1 through pt. 5. It was never supposed to run a "full" season's length, and at the last minute, after the five parter had already been written, they cut the budget allowing for only three episodes.

The single run 3 ep DVD for season 4 actually exists. It has been out for a long time already... I got mine around /before the season 3 part 1 set.

Cheebs: is it just me or is the Rebirth eps on the Season 3/4 set in worse quailty than the original Heroes release? I haven't bothered to dig the old one out, but I seem to remember it being better.

I don't have the Season 3 part 2/Season 4 box set yet, but I'll let you know when I know.

All I know is the opening credits animation for season 4 rules! :)

I managed to catch an episode of Energeon this morning, and WOW, this show is fucking terrible, it's like Robots in Disguise and Armada, but with worse animation! It's like this weak ass Cel Shaded look mixed with normal animation, and it comes off looking extremely shitty, especially since the cel shaded characters only seem to have two frames of animation whenever they do anything. And there are still those worthless kids running around! And I've grown to hate what ever company dubs this show, since they recycle the same terrible voice actors, when I heard the voice of one of the dude's from Zoids I wanted to vomit (oh man do I hate that horrible show and everything even remotely related to it). And then there's the fact that I think all the robots designs look like boxy peices of crap, but I won't get into that.

I find this to be terribly amusing, compare the voice actors of both shows (Beast Wars and Energon).
