Hah! I agree. When I first saw Super Prime, I couldn't stand the damned thing because he didn't have articulated, jointed legs. Just a huge hollow slab of molded plastic. Yuck!
I should really pick up an Armada Prime and Jet Fire. I have Overhaul, and I'd like to have a Super Mega Prime, but the funds is tight right now (because I spent WAY too much on figures as it is). If I can find them for cheap, I'll hit it up.
And about waiting to buy the Fatimus Prime, I wouldn't. Buy him as soon as you can. Transformers has, classicly, had an extremely short turn over period from series to series, and when the new figs release, the old one disappear. Buy him before you can't anymore.
Capn:
The Toys R Us around here has the Armada Primes for $20, a mix of the original and Powerlinx versions. You'll probably have to get Jetfire off the net though. Original Prime and Powerlinx Jetfire is the best combination, I think.
I'm wondering why our G1 re-releases are so crappy compared to Takara's reissue's in Japan?
They've gotten Soundwave, Astrotrain, a 6 pack of mini-bots (including Bumblebee), and Megatron (though we'll NEVER see him over here because of toy laws).
It's also rumored that reissue #14 is going to be Grimlock, as well.
I wish Hasbro would step up to the plate here, and not release tons upon tons of repaints lately. Inferno, Hoist, Grapple, all three jets (even though I enjoyed all three).
I would gladly cut some of those to get Soundwave and Astrotrain brought out over here, with the possibility of Grimlock. Instead in the newest re-issues we get ANOTHER Hot Rod and Dirge (another decepticon jet).
I'm hoping, since Takra seems to really be listening to what the fans want, Devastator isn't too far behind.
Check this news out folks:
WOW! And I thought the original TF movie dvd was great.Quote:
Toon Zone has learned that a two-disc, expanded DVD edition of Transformers: The Movie is in development, timed to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Transformers. A late 2004 release date has been tentatively scheduled.
Update - 8.10.03: A report from Wizard World Chicago 2003 at DVDTalk.com confirms that Rhino does indeed have a TF:TM expanded DVD edition in the works. One of the bonus features included will be "previously unreleased bridging material between the movie and the third season." The report adds that Rhino "has recently decided to tackle the Japanese exclusive Transformers series" for release on DVD as well.
Awesome, rather glad I hadn't gotten around to picking up that DVD yet.
Roufuss: If you want an original G1 Astrotrain, let me know. I got one in the lot with Scorponok, it's in great condition. We can work something out.
Today is Easter...you know what that means? My girl finally gave me the 20th Anniversary Prime!!!!!! Yay!!!!
I cannot put into mere words how great this is. I'm gonna go to some toy stores tomorrow to see if I can find a trailer that I can modify to work with Prime.
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, Toys R Us, both the stores and on the web have many of the G1 reissues on sale. The really popular ones like Rodimus and Jazz are regular prices, but most of the others are on sale. Might pick up a Smokescreen myself for $15.
I'll probably get the Takara one as soon as I order Soundwave, but thanks anyways :DQuote:
